We should make a custom card for this unit. We can use FoW to help us, and that is why I bring it up. This might actually give italy a fighting chance. SO I say lets start woking on a custom card. I don't know the specs or anything about the tank but we can always do research!

Here is a possiblity:

Unit - P40 Italian Medium Tank
Year - 1942
Cost - 20
Speed - 3
Armor - 4/4
AI - 8/7/6
AT - 13/10/9
Limited Numbers - no more than 5 P40 tanks can be fielded in an army per 200 points.

It would be a relatively good tank. We might give it prone to breakdown or flammable.

I would certainly field 5 of them in my italian army.
If we can get the card made we can then use the FoW  mini.

All data I found was on the FoW website:

http://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=144&art_id=1309

it has armor specs, gun specs, speed specs, basically everything we should need to make a card.

Hm, seems a little fast for a "heavy tank".    I think armor is good but cost is to high. Just 20 points.    Excellent Suspension is eh.

Its basically a sherman with worse AI.

I think I'd still take my version. It'd be the best italian tank available.

I had never heard of this tank until now. I noticed that the turret is riveted, that would be a weakness.

It could be ust the painting. If it actually was riveted how about an SA like this:

If this unit is attacked and exactly 3 sixes are rolled against it this units gets a destroyed counter.

Speed 4 is because it could reach 40 km/h.
If I gave it similar stats with the sherman it's because it had similar technical datas.

Can I add that Italians hadn't the same definition for "heavy tanks" than us :
Italian Light = tankette, Italian Medium = light tank, and Italian heavy = medium tank

It is also admited that it had excellent suspensions.

Okay, well I see what you're saying. I gave it speed 3 because it said 25 MPH.

I'd list it as a German unit. It mainly and probably only fought with the German military.

Well being of italian creation, even if it didnt serve with them, I say we give it to italy.  That way italy has a non craptastic tank that doesnt go boom when you shoot at it!

Gentlemen,

Comando Supremo has a little more info on the P40.

http://www.comandosupremo.com/CarroP40.html

It would appear that the P40 may not have ever saw battle pre-armistice.  I wonder however if any were used in the hands of the Fasciti afterward?

The Type-3 Chi Nu did not see actual combat. So I don't think we should worry about that too much about P40.

I say give it atleast something negative. I mean, its Italian (not known for good quality tanks), riveted, and late war.

There's just something about that combo....

Due to all of thier production and delivery problems you could give it an SA like:
Uncertain Arrival-

Roll a die.  These tanks enter on the turn number represented on thie die.  In a 7 turn game, it would arrive sometime...

Hee hee, that would be hilarious! Very Happy  Of course, the production and delivery problems really wouldn't have much effect on when the vehicle would show up during a 20minute skirmish (or however long 7 turns is supposed to represent in real time).  Still, too funny! Smile

Haha hey it's a possibility.  You know when you're running 10 minutes late for a doctors appointment, it'd be like that,
