I am currently working on a couple scenarios involving these two under documented yet fierce fighting units in WWII. They were the "colored" units, segregated from the regular army and given the toughest (almost suicide) missions. Despite the odds, they prevailed.
If anyone has any web links they can share with regards to their battles (with details) and equipment (I'm sure it is the same as 3rd & 4th Armored) I'd really appreciate this.
Thanks. Hopefully the scenarios will be completed by Christmas since I have a couple more Caen Scenarios to finish as well as my SAS Raids.
Thanks

Aren't those the Buffalo Soldiers? I watched Miracle at St. Anne's by Spike Lee. There might be some historical references in that, and it was a decent war movie, a little heavy handed, but worth a watch. _________________ Proud collector of "Battle Barbies" |

Yes, they are the Buffalo Soldiers. I am looking for more info on the Black Panthers tank squadron right now, but I would like to put together a couple Buffalo Soldier ones too. I'm very impressed the more i read about thier war exploits.
I did find a book on the 761st written by Kareen Abdul Jabar...it should be here any day now. I hope that will help a bit especially with the unit TO&E _________________ Custom Painted Minis: http://riversidegaming.myfastforum.org/forum52.php

Snip, I used the 761st in my Operation: Caged Phoenix scenario - there are many useful web sources on them. _________________

I've found lots of web sites about them and some of the heros of the unit, but no one talks about the tanks they drove, the infantry support and such. The pics are where I get the most info. Seeing them sitting in an M5A1 is a sure sign those guys drove em...lol
I'll keep poking around. This is a back burner scenario right now anyway. My next next Caen scenario and the SAS ones I am working on will be up first.
