Yo.

I need to get involved in this thing sooner or later, might as well do it now.  Smile

I can use Rebel's maps, but am unsure about the aircraft icons.

Is there a file I should use for applying the aircraft to the maps? I can adobe cs and other programs, but which one to use? My problem would be that the white space around the aircraft token shows up on the map if I do the simple cut and paste deal.

Ideally, an adobe photoshop file with all the aircraft in it plus various maps would make this process work smoothly.

We also need a difficult manuevers guide online. If such a guide were listed on the side of the map, that would be golden. I would like to just scan and crop from the rulebook. Copyright infringement? Heck, we are supporting the game, not profiting from it!  Laughing

Photocopying the whole book probably falls under legitimate fair use clause.

Certainly just posting the difficult maneuvers is not a problem, as we'll have to explain them again and again and again.

I think the aircraft markers are in PNG format, so if you open them in Photoshop, they will only be the plane, not the background. If that doesn't work, use the magic selector to take the while out, then past it on the map you've opened is PS. (I just drag the planes off my desktop onto the map, but I don't know if that works on windows) Wink

Yep, I'm making a Adobe PDf with all the planes and damage/crippled markers for online play... but with all the new markers I revise it hourly! Laughing

+1 I was gonna make a little quick guide for AAA, but thought twice due to Copyright... stupid infringement! Sad

Still, I think all we need are a few more maps, all the planes, and a few rule sheets and we'll be ready for the Forum AAA Tourny! Laughing Rolling Eyes Thanks for helping!

They are indeed PNG files and shouldn't have any noticeable white around them.

I use GIMP and just drag the images onto the map as well. I find myself needing to put shadows under them in order to create a little more contrast with the map.

The entire rulebook is a bit wordy with all the examples. I think we just need a quickstart guide with the basics and especially the difficult maneuvers. We can make the maneuver guide ourselves but since they have it already in a great format it might not be worth the effort to re-construct.

It sounds like Rebel is close to putting together the best photoshop file for us to use online.

Thanks and I look forward to the final product.!

I was thinking of something like the back cover of the rulebook which fits all of the difficult maneuvers onto one page.  The pictures are probably more important than the worded descriptions, as people are more likely to understand the success/failure position in the picture than just the words.

If Rebel gets something together, great.

I can scan the back of the rule book today. I am envisioning the maneuvers to be listed on the side of each map for easy reference.
