So he enters D8 at elevation 5, continues to C7 and turns to 12 o'clock completing his move.

That should finish the movement.

I should have the following, all against the Wildcat:

CF:  9 dice, 4, 5, 6
Gustav Ace:  5 dice, 3, 4, 5, 6
Wurger:  9 dice, 5, 6.

CF vitals, so even if the Wildcat makes his Bring em Home alive roll, the Wurger still shoots him down.

That should do it.

GG.  That was a fun lesson in why the bigger point games are just plum chaotic.  I think the dice heavily favored me, as an early turn initiative for you would have resulted in far fewer casualties.

My initial reaction with the Germans is that they really need to go with a 5 plane build here because the initiative bonuses on the allied side are simply too good and the Germans need the Fighter Sweep SA to trigger from the first turn in order to help balance that out.

What's his facing and by what route did he get there.  I tried to find a legal path there but all of them involved consecutive turns, not that it matters since I haven't moved my Wurger yet, but in case I'd like to attack the Mustang.

You're right I thought that my Cat was in K6, but it's in J6, so:

My Cat is in J6.
Your CF is in I5,
my Stang is in H6
Your Wurgers in J7
Erich in C7
Gustav in H5...

Is that right? Sorry for the mixup! Embarassed

Good game! 200 points are a bit to many for online play perhaps, but it was very fun! Thanks for playing! Very Happy

GG.  We'll have to play again, perhaps with a lower point total.  I'm guessing 200 points is too much even for board play unless both players are really patient and handle a lot of calculation.

Sure thing, we should play test a few "scenario options" like A Flying Tiger and Abu vs Vet Zero and Tony, or a the Finn plane and Bf Wingman vs LL Tomahawk and two Yak Rookies... or the BoB one.

Just make sure to keep it under 120 points, or it get's to crazy! Shocked Laughing

I've got a very long list of scenario options I'd like to try.

Here's the list of things I'd like to try:

I've played two games with Germany online now, and the other games I've tested at home have also been German, which is good, as they have a lot of different plane options and configurations and it is hard to test them all in just a few games.

So here's my list:

1.  Some kind of point configuration or game where the BF109F Friedrich fits into the game.  5-5-5-3 maneuver stats look pretty good to me, the plane is a Veteran, which is also good.  The only drawback is the somewhat weaker gunnery compared to the Bf109E and the lack of a dice boosting SA that compensates the Gustav.  Still, for 38 points, it looks like an appropriate set of abilities.

2.  Bf110C:  I'm generally convinced that this big behemoth is better replaced by a more maneuverable aggressive aircraft.  Still, my gut tells me that there has to be someway to make this aircraft more viable, and the thread the other day about it gave me a few ideas, not that they will work out exactly in practice, but I'd like to keep trying to do things with it.

3.  Bf109E Wingman:  I don't think it fits well into a 100 point build, but change the points up or down and suddenly 1 or 2 fit nicely, and its got a nice SA for covering a lead plane provided you can keep it in formation and position.  I'm starting to have some new ideas on maneuvering and firing, in which this plane might work out well.

4.  Matimaha vs USSR:  Basically 3x Matimaha versus one of the many possible USSR builds that I have looked at, 100 points or thereabouts.

5.  Italy:  I haven't done any Italy yet, but they have a lot of units at the right price points for fitting into 100 points.  I'm not sure I like the idea of them at much higher than 100 points.  Lower is possible.  Generally I'd think of a UK/Italy nation match-up here.

6.  Japan/China/US:  I've got some ideas and options in mind here.

7.  US vs general Axis:  Would be fun to test them out.

8.  UK vs general Axis:  specifically at a point value that gave an option for the Typhoon or Kosciuszko.

Down the road, I'd like to test out the Bomber scenario and/or some of the alternative battle of Britain options in the starter rulebook, since they seem to offer a lot of gaming variety and are more well-balanced than the convoy option we got in WAS.

I might want to take a few days before starting another game, but I'm definitely game to keep trying stuff.  As can be seen, I'm historically minded, and I don't mind playing with the points to create a good match-up between a couple of nations.

Whenever you wanna play a historical game, I'll play, so either PM, or start a thread! Very Happy Some things I want to test out (I'm coming from the gaming perspective):
-Geomorphic Map with varying heights, so you could dive through a valley and climb over a mountain.
-Limited Speed changes, so you can only change your speed 1, or two if you move or dive or climb, or 3 if you don't turn while you dive/climb.
-Ramming/LOS, shooting planes in the way of your guns, or hitting planes in you way.
Limited Defensive Fire, if a plane cuts in your range 2- attack zone, roll a d6, if the roll +1 is his speed make an attack at -1 per die.

Just a few houserule ideas! Very Happy

We need to start a thread where we can test out all our ideas! Wink
