As there is so many different optional rules in the game i wondered if we should formalise the rules for Club v Club matches.
Thoughts and ideas Very Happy

Even though us Soviets don't have a club yet, we will ( pray ), so I figure my input is good here.

I think to keep things simple and coherent, we should play with Just the Advanced Rules (no grazing fire, enfilade fire, overwatch, lethal Defensive fire, etc...) and Revised Cards.

That's because we're all familiar with the Advanced Rules cause they're the 1st rules most of us learned, and the revised cards are the easiest and most common set to find. Here's a link to pretty much all of the current cards with revisions
http://forumini.wikidot.com/axis-allies-miniatures

Again, the Advanced Rules are the simplest, and the Revised Cards are the easiest to find. Both of these factors lead me to believe that this is the best approach.

This is very much my thoughts too, any new players joining would not be too intimidated that way either.

I think the rules and guides should be decided on the folks participating in the matches.  It gives folks the option to play with what they want.  Though they should lay the guides down before the game is agreed to be played.  Similar to the setup in the current online forum.

Good idea, but I hold that the Advanced Rules and Revised Cards combo should be the standard format for these games.  Anything else should be specified and agreed upon by players before the match begins.

I actually voted for the 2nd option because I think that Advanced Rules + Revised Cards should be the standard, but you should also be allowed to play any additional rules if you can your partner(s) agree upon them.

I agree but if we let the poll run until Sunday 22.00 GMT then we will take that as done, in the event of a tie i will set up another poll involving just the units involved in the tie  Very Happy

"All rules" means optional expanded rules?

Yes. I believe that's what it's referring to. I think we've already agreed upon just expanded rules with revised cards and current errata, unless you and your opponent agree upon additional rules. That means no expanded rules, which can become cumbersome to play with.
