Post subject: Texas_Archers Unit review and Tactics: Chinese Army

In this installment of the series, I look into the most unappreciated member of the allies, the Chinese Army
Chinese Army: 4 units, 3 infantry, 1 vehicle
Kuomintang Riflemen: 2 pts
This unit is the Chinese basic infantry. For two points, you get a unit that has average dice at range, no ability to close assault vehicles, and the Lack of Determination SA that kills them when their disrupted token comes face up. this unit is good in groups, which will allow you to have some survive to get to the objective. At 2 points, you can afford to put many on the playing field.
Kuomintang Officer: 5 pts
This officer is the cheapest in the game. And he pays for that in his initiative value. At a +1 to initiative, you probably will not be going first all that often. His lack of attacks at medium range, his low short range attacks, and his lack of close assault makes him sort of a liability on the battlefield. Put him in safe places, and engage with him as a last resort.
Kuomintang Machine Gun Team: 6 pts
Ahh, the Chinese diamond in the rough. For six points, you get a machine gun team that has one less dice against infantry than the Vikers MG team, But comes with the overheat ability. With this unit, you can cheat the system though. In any build, i would reccomend using 3-4 of these and bring a ammo dump with you. WEith the ammo dump, the Overheat ability pretty much gets nullified, allowing you acces to cheap, and efficient MG soldiers.
T-26 Series 1933: 11 pts
China's only vehicle, this unit has low defense (2/2) and average speed (3), but comes with the ability to defeat light to medium vehicles with its main gun. Its serious drawback is its Sa that does'nt allow disrupted counters to come off. these are good for hit and run as well as defence. Since these are the only chinese units that can deal effectively against vehicles, you will need to bring a few to the battlefield.
Next time, I will tackle the French Army. have a good one!!! _________________ GTL + 32 (Old boards)

Great review
I never thought of using an ammo dump with the Chinese MG as I usually play them in small skirmishes. But that being said it is a great idea in a larger point game. I enjoyed reading your review and cant wait for the next one |

Very good review.
I think the chinese riflemen is unplayable. It's simply not good at anything. 5 dice at medium range can't hurt anything, and it has no close assault. 7 dice at close range might be decent against non-elite infantry, but it will have a hard time getting there. Even cover rolls don't save it. The officer is even worse, when compared to the commissar. For the same cost it lacks close assault or bravery enforcement. |

Is it possible to blog the reviews under the authors name like in the modelling section once they are done? That would be a great way to use them as a resource |
