I can't believe I am the first one on this:

Rich Baker's blog today:

"Some War at Sea news: I received my “designer” complete set of Task Force yesterday. It sure is fun to pull out the models and look the cards over. There are some very nice new pieces; I love the Halifax and the Folgore C.202 (those are spoilers, kids!). Of course, I see some of the warts too. I’m feeling very guilty over the gunnery rating I assigned the HMCS Haida and the HMAS Arunta (and another spoiler!). They’re Tribal-class destroyers, and they were very heavily gunned by destroyer standards, but I think I got them about 1 die too high at range 0 and range 2. They aren’t gamebreakers, but I know you simulationists out there are going to have a field day at my expense. But take a look at the Haida’s record before you beat me up too much! That ship had a heck of a war. You can go see the Haida up in Toronto, by the way—it’s preserved as a war memorial."

The Folgore C.202 is a surprise to me! Way to go Rich!

Hooray! Things are looking up.   wave

Hmmm, British patrol bomber, Italian fighter, Tribal destroyers. We'd pretty much guessed a lot of that, but it is nice to see the Italian fighter confirmed.

I just checked and don't see the Halifax added to the list, although the 202, French sub, and Dunkerque are now there. Confused Maybe I missed it though.

Wow. Talk about 'stealth posting."

I'll bet that dog is going to make us wait until the very last sneak preview before he tells us the IJN carriers!  Twisted Evil

Aquarius, add the Halifax too please.

Btw, I will not make a card for the Halifax. It seems to be a difficult unit and I'd like to see the official card first.

I dont know much about'em you see, when I hear the word "halifax" I can only imagine a brown/green heavy bomber killin' civilians in a german city at night Very Happy    but what did they do over the atlantic??? I guess they've played a quite vital part since they are featured in set II

I've been doing some Googling on them. There was a variant that was produced for RAF Coastal Command that were used for long range recon and anti-submarine duty. They carried depth charges and anti-submarine bombs.

Here is a great site I found:

IIRC, Halifax bombers were also involved in many of the raids against Tirpitz. Not that they did any good.

But yeah, mostly they were used for ASW and recon duties.
