turn 1:
the main soviet infantry assault came in on the german left flank  where it met with heavy machine gun fire supported by barbed wires and veteran troops. it was a massacre, with troops flying away from the battle field...
No one in the middle but on the right flank more infantry showed up with heavy support in the form of rocket launcher and mortar fire. they took position...

turn2:
on the left more soviet infantry got stuck in wires and struggled to get through under constant fire. nevertheless with spotters around soviet mortar shells began to fall on the german lines there...
on the other side devastating rocket salvos dismantled the german middle ground leaving only a stunned mg team while the infantry moved forward.
the only german ammo dump went up in flammes under air attack...

turn3:

both sides got reinforcements in. part of the muncheberg (without motorized troops) and all of the soviet tanks.
again despite reaching the cliffs the soviet infantry got a hard time fighting well camouflaged volkstrum units supported by 88s.
instead of rushing in the soviet tanks hid behind forests to hammer the german infantry, keeping out of sight of german guns. if it hadnt been for the veterans the german infantry would almost have broken down on the right flank.
soviet planes took out an 88 position while heavy german tanks took position on the central hills.

turn4:
everywhere the soviet foot soldiers struggled to break the german first line suffering heavy casualties in the process. Only a bold t 34 tank assault managed to make it and went head on to the german hetzer positions. a massive tank battle ensued leaving most tanks damaged or on fire. more 88s went up in flame due to a surprise Is2 tank attack.

turn5:
despite having their king tiger bogged down in streams on the right flank the hetzer's front makes direct hits on the Is2 breaking up soviet morale...
more mortar fire on german infantry positions. luftwaffe troops flee the scene pursued by soviet planes...

turn6:
now the russian t34s try to outflank the german line from the left only to be stoped by undetected minefields and panzerfaust fire. soviet infantry falls back at the same time, stopped by barbed wire or steep cliffs. bad time for the soviets as they also loose more tanks! nevertheless accurate mortar and air attacks saves the day leaving burning hetzers on hill tops.

turn 7 and 8:

it looks to the germans as if the soviets are waiting for nightfall as they back off and take firing positions again. no soviet planes around: its time for the german counter attack on the right flank which bogs down again with king tigers stuck in streams...

night time...
the germans get 1 veteran infantry and a volkstrum unit back. not much!
the soviets 4 ppsh, 1 grenadier and a katyuska unit. good but no Is2 and the german still field their king tiger...

to be followed... Very Happy
