Post subject: WotC WAS forum kaput?

| Anybody having trouble accessing this? I've never been able to w/Firefox, but now IE shows a WotC technical error page. |

I have had the same issue for a few days...thought it was a work CPU thing, but same issue at home.
At the rate WoTC checks thier own forum it could be a few weeks before they discover the issue.

| from that screen, click the log in button at the top right of the page, and then on the following page click on community, then select forums at the community page and lastly click on the avalon hill avatar, and you will end in the forums. |

Gah! That was the whole point of my shortcut, not to wade through that each time. I couldn't even access the site through google/ixter. Plus I'd just logged in a few days ago to stay logged in for two weeks, too. Meh.

I figured out the same trick. But once you are in go to your home page and create a new shortcut. Then it will work. Something has changed in the address so old 'favorites' don't work.

My old shortcut worked once I went trhough and logged in again.

For some reason neither of these work now. I am right back to using the old trick of clicking on the 'login' button from the error message page.

I just had to do this too. Not too great having to jump an extra hoop just to get to the boards, but at least they're not totally kaput.

| After further research, it appears that if you are getting the error, you need to go to "tools" on your browser then " internet options" and delete the temporary internet cookies file. You will lose automatic log-ins and the like on all websites/forums, but it will fix the issue. If you are savy enough you can go in and delete just the cookies that apply to the wotc site. There are 3-5 of them. I didnt bother with it and just dumped the temp cookies, closed my browser and re-opened it and had no problem getting where I needed to go. |

This is why the CookieSafe addon for Firefox is so cool--it'll let you dump only one site's cookies--got me out of a FUBAR cookie problem over here too.

I gave up. I never go there anymore. I think they succeeded in chasing away 90% of the users. Perhaps that was the goal.

I'd probably have trouble, if I ever troubled myself with trying to go there for anything other than rule clarifications (which are often less clear and later contradicted anyway).
