Post subject: Pre Card Request discussion?

One of my earliest recollected readings of WW II Naval History is of the brave little "Trojan Horse"-like (the original, not the virus) convoy ships who took on German submarines alone and on the high seas.
As I recall they would lure unsuspecting U-Boats to the surface to claim an easy prize only to "unmask guns" and reveal camouflaged weaponry with which to attack the sub.
So, my questions are twofold...
Am I remembering this tale correctly? Were there such "brave, little" (um, suidicdal?) convoy missions and, if so, should they be represented in our game?
I noticed the JOB has no guns or ASW and I did not see any such vessal in my perusal of the custom cards on the forum.
What do you guys think?
It might be humerous to have a ship with 0 main guns and "masked guns" as a SA... _________________ "...all the measures of the Government are directed to the purpose of making the rich richer and the poor poorer."

In the custom card forum I posted a Q-Ship card... those were the convoy transports with hidden weapons. Here is the link.

These cards I made went through a couple revisions after some discussion and have been play tested. They can post a threat to a sub or ship...but like real Q-ships, they were not heavily armed and were unarmored.
Hope that helps. _________________ Custom Painted Minis: http://riversidegaming.myfastforum.org/forum52.php

| I seem to recall that this was a ploy used to great effect in WWI but once the cat was out of the bag it wasn't at all successful in WWII. Torpedoes were much cheaper, more readily available and more reliable than in WWI. |

Ahhhhh perhaps THAT is why my recollection wasn't making 100% sense to me... I was recalling the wrong war!
Minor little detail there... _________________ "...all the measures of the Government are directed to the purpose of making the rich richer and the poor poorer."

Q-Ships did exist in WW2 just they we're more to surprise raiders than to sucker subs in. _________________
