I've also seen 2-tone-gray Dauntlesses, another scheme for you to consider.
Also, by the time they moved to overall navy-blue, the Dauntlesses were mainly used as squadron-hacks, trainers and personal birds for VIP's.

The two-tone grey, was that a atlantic scheme? I am painting my PBY's and keep seeing one similar and the standard blue-gray one and the black cats. The gray I am finding for the PBY's is Dark Gull Gray over Light Gull Gray with Light Gray/White underneaths. The grey on grey looks nice. I might go back over the navy ones and paint them that color.
Thanks for the info. Its kinda hard to find color schemes for the old birds.
