Well Dunkerque edged out Jean Bart and Repulse was voted over Alaska... so of the two, which is the better unit for an 150 point unlimited Allied Fleet?

I have to give a slight nod to Dunkerque with exellent spotting but only by a hair. They are about equal.

Repulse has an extra hull point and the range 2 torpedo. Dunkerque has better AA, better secondaries, actual TD as opposed to Evade Torpedoes, and Excellent spotting. Going with Dunkerque here, mainly because of the TD and better AA.

This was a tough one. These two ships are the best small battleships in the game and they are the most cost effective bang for the buck pieces you can throw down on the map to do battle with. I had to give the dunkerque the nod due to excellent spotting and TD1.However, if you factor in that repulse is 3 points cheaper-they are basically equal in power for point cost.

Cheers,

I actually like Dunkerque better, but my repulse has vitaled about 5 enemys in 8 games. 4 of those were battleships.

If the repulse doesn't get the votes I'm going to flip out.

Is it just because of the extra Hull?

I believe its just in downtown Buffalo. Just go downtown and keep to the water, I found it easy enough when I lived there.

Check out the link i posted below for the Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park.  Along with the Little Rock, also known as CLG-4 since she is partially converted into a missle frigate, are The Sullivans (Fletcher Class destroyer) and The Croaker (submarine) and some other cool stuff including a P.T. Boat.

I voted for Dunkerque.

The better AA, useful secondaries, and TD (which always works, not once per game) plus the slight advantage of Excellent Spotting beats Repulses' insignificant main gunnery advantage, extra hull point and the 66% chance of Evade Torps Sa working- once.

Hell, even compared to GC, Dunkerque is a better ship than the 2 point difference would suggest.

However, a recosted and re-statted Scharnhorst with TD plus Long Range shot would make her the choice 'light' BB for me.

Another tough call but had to go with Dunkerque.  It has good AA, TD-1, and Excellent Spotting.  It is a an all-around solid unit.
