Post subject: Panzerschiffe ships

Hey guys, was doing some research on new ships to make and came across the post on these forums about the 1:2400 scale ships made by panzershiffe. Curious, I bought four ships and thought I'd share what I found.
I bought four ships: USS Ranger, Emden, HMS Emerald, and the HIJMS Ryujo.
Ranger with my converted Ranger(WaS Shoho):
Emerald and Emden, with the Spaehkreuzer I am currently working on:
(Emerald is at the bottom, Emden is above it)
All my PS ships:
Overall, I like the ships, but do agree that when compared against the War at Sea vessels, they are small. The cruisers and destroyers would probably fit better in WaS than the capital ships in terms of scale.
The price was pretty good too, and they came pretty quicky. (Ordered them from their site)
I'm thinking I might buy more from PS, now that I have an idea of what to expect scale wise. _________________

Nice job.
The Panzerschiff line of miniatures is intentionally 'low detail' because a lot of gamers don't like the more detailed metal miniatures that are easy to break. Panzerschiff are easy to quickly paint and durable for gaming. If you like the 1:2400 scale and want some really detailed miniatures look at the GHQ line. _________________

Thanks. I looked at the GHQ line, and while they are highly detailed, I didn't feel like paying $10-15+ on a mini I can get for less from Panzerschiffe. _________________

And the nice thing about Panzerschiffe is their price range.
To give an example when i used to buy them which has been awhile regarding the Carriers, not all Carriers are priced the same.
The smaller Carriers cost less than the larger Carriers.
Also Panzerschiffe is one of the few companies that make the Shinano in a decent scale,GHQ is going to do Shinano but i'm not sure when.

nrnstraswa,
To jump on the bandwagon late: I own a LARGE number of Panzerschiffe (PS) units and I really love them. (Just bought Dave's USN mobile drydock last month, just not sure how I want to use it.) My goal is to put large numbers of ships on the table at once, and PS lets me do just that. I've bought a good number of DD and subs of different nationalities and use them as generic ship units (not picky about getting correct classes for my gaming; good plan now better than perfect plan later). Particularly, the merchie packages let me run large convoy scenarios.

Nice, just recently bought myself five new ships: Somers class DD, IJNS B-65 project, the German O class Battlecruiser, and a Portland class Heavy Cruiser. _________________
