I believe the AA number listed on the DR cards should be removed.

I don't believe air actions at sea were significant enough to warrant an AA rating on the ship cards.  Any anti air action could be incorporated into the existeing Defensive Armament stat currently used against destroyers and torpedo boats.

This allows all aircraft rules to be removed from the Dreadnought Rising text.  But ti also maintains a mechanism for anti air action, via defensive armament, should players choose to create and advanced rule for aircraft.

The Defensive Armament SA and the AA factor represent two entirely different things. The guns represented by the Defensive Armament SA were not dual-purpose and could not be used against aircraft. The AA factor represents dedicated anti-aircraft guns, of which a surprising number were carried by WWI ships.

I agree the WaS air rules don't work for DR (why are they even in there?) but there will inevitably be air rules. That being the case, I think it makes more sense to leave the AA factor where it is, rather than taking it out now and then having redesign the cards again later.

The air rules are there precisely because the ships have AA ratings.  If the cards are going to have an AA rating then it's silly to have rules which do not also include aircraft and AA.

Sorry, what I meant was 'why is there an almost word for word copy of the WWII air rules from WaS in there'.

I think it was because he didn't know what else to put there.  Air rules is certainly one of the things that we haven't really discussed at all, so I don't think anyone should feel like they need to be included in the draft rules up to this point.  It's not something to stress over for sure.

I just use my own cards, NDs card are too painful on my eyes to read. The text is was too small to read when you print it to standard poker size.

I print them, cut them out, then fold them. SA description on the back.

Nice looking Jesse_James version of a DR card, but I have no problem with ND's cards, I can read them fairly well. I do like the idea of the SA's on the back though I'm sure some would complain about having to flip the card over to read the SA's. Looks good though Jesse.

actually I don't use those anymore, some times for my 1/2400 ships.

But most of my play testing has been with my ship base/cards

I glue the ships (have not yet since we are still play testing) to the base which is the stat card. Special abilities are on the reverse side.

they are 1/6000 scale.
