Well, ARK had a bad night and I a good one. He got hammered twice by me and once by Seisen. Soooo, I thought he might wanna know what happened after he left...

French (Seisen)
BB Richlieu
CA Suffren
DD Milan x4

Japanese (Duck Crusader)
BB Yamishiro
CA Tone
DD Shiguire
DD Isokaze x 2

Map two, Seisen sets up first.

Turn one, opening moves.

Japan starts with the initative, and surges forward. Shiguire and the Yamishiro running tandem and screened by a pair of Isokazes, while the Tone powers forward alone. On the other side of the map Seisen's Milans leap ahead of the battle-line while the Richlieu and Suffren follow at a more stately pace. With no air or subs the first turn ends antilclimaticly

Turn 2, first blood.

France now takes the lead on the Sons of Nippon. Each of their scattered detachments move toward on OB and are countered by Milans. Guns on the Tone Bark and cripple one of the Milans, while Deadly accurate Torp and gun fire fire from the Isokazes eliminates the center force DDs. Yamishiro blasts away and strikes Richelu with Tone's help, while Shiguire pops smoke. In return, the two Milans blaze away at Tone, but only a single shot strikes home from her guns. The center force is wholly ineffective and in spite of heavy fire from Richlieu and Suffren only a single shot strikes Yamishiro.

Turn 3, beginning of the end.

Still with an edge in spite of their pounding The French seek their revenge. They close with Tone and  northern OB. For their part the Japanese occupy the center and southern OBs. Once more Tone's guns and torps blaze away, and when they're done there remain no Milans to contest their posession of the south. In the center an Isokaze puts a torp into Richlieu while Yamishiro strikes her once more. Shiguire smokes again. A fullisade of French fire answers, but due to smoke and abominable rolls they only manage to sink Shiguire. Japan claims the center and southern OBs.

Turn 4, out in a blaze of glory.

Japan regains the edge finally. The Isokazes and Tone head north while Yamishiro haunts the slowly dissipating smoke cloud. Richlieu and her consort close with her since they cannot claim the OB to take advantage of her cover. Richlieu and Suffren's guns bark and Yamishiro is struck twice. Her return fire devastates Richlieu, but the smoke cloud confuses the Isokazes and their fire goes wild. Badly outnumbered by the remaining Nipponese ships, the Suffren's captain strikes her colors and goes into captivity. Hope he likes REALLY little bamboo cells half submerged in water... Twisted Evil

Seisen's dice did not love him and mine did. I was scoring 1-2 LL hits per turn, monsterously destructive at this level of points. And I CAN HAS SMOKE NOW!  Twisted Evil  Wink  Laughing

The historical deployment rules are keeping games close now, and making things more interresting.  Againt the Japanese, the French just got punked... what looked like an advantage quickly turned into a "how to make sushi from your opponent" exorcise in turn three.  I hate kabuki theater Razz

ARK... I feal your pain!!!!!
