Just ordered 7 Central and 7 Entente ships (about 40 mil each side) to play test DR next week with my club

The guys are really excited, but I think I'll have another teacher playtest it with me.
I'll let you know how it goes... I hope you guys can add about 40 more ships (including some USN). Love it so far, keep up (start back up ) the good work _________________ ...it is good that war is so horrible, lest we grow too fond of it. -Bobby Lee

I bought a ton of 1/6000 ships when I was in Philly this summer.
tiny little guy, got them dirt cheap. Tough to paint.
Think I ma prime them, the use a coat or 2 of walnut for the deck colors then paint the areas needed with various shades of gray. _________________ Always Flying. Always Fighting. RIP JIMMY.

IMO, 1/6000 is the way to go unless time and $ are no problem. Entire classes of ships can be painted in an evening. I have not ventured into WWI yet. I do own Age of Dreadnaughts and with the DR project getting back on track I may.
I saw some great WWI and interwar games going on last weekend at Nav-con which has kind of motivated me.
Here are some of the 1/6000 I have completed:

Iv'e been using the skytrex 1:3000th scale WW1 ships.
They do keep more detail and easy to paint.
I was using them with the seekrieg rule system, but was frustraited to hell and back with constant chart checking.
I stumbled on the DR section by accident a fare few months back and went...hubba hubba
Iv'e been following it on the sidelines for quite sometime and waiting in quiet antisipation lol.
I think i'd need extra inchthick specs to paint 1:6000 hahaha but those ones look amazing in the picture. _________________ seven cans short of a six pack |
