Hello Snips.
I'm glad you enjoyed this scenario.
Designing it was a bit of a personnal affair to me as i had always wanted to do something about the fall of Berlin. When i was living in london (opposite the imperial war museum) i did a lot of research on this battle and designed a wargame about it. It took me about two years. When i started approaching professional designers (from moments in history- a US company with german designers) they published their very own Battle for Berlin! So you guess i'm happy this scenario is picking up some interest. I've already had feedback from several american gaming groups.
To answer your question, i've really tried to stay as historical as possible. the germans really were cornered in the reichstag hence their deployment (i did playtest with a more open set up).
It's true the tanks do not add much to the heavy infantry fights but, again Diers' King tiger was there too outnumbered as he was by the IS2s.
Finaly i did include 3 88s for 2 reasons: the first being a famous picture of the Reichstag with destroyed 88s in the foreground, and the second (after playtests)for fear that the soviet player would send his planes on suicide attacks against them. Even if his does the german would still have one left.
thanks for the feedback! _________________

We played this one Sunday and really enjoyed ourselves. The Russian artillery completely dominated. I think the 88's might need some more protection because they disappeared early on.
Thanks very much. _________________

Hello Sharpe!
Happy you had a good time playing the scenario. It's funny i was having a look at this scenario not later than last night and thought we could give the 88s the same SA as the canadian AT gun "entrenched".It's true that they are usually destroyed early on so they could do with a little help.
A question: did the soviets manage to raise the banner? _________________

I'll see what i come up with.
I've ordered some ruined buildings and strongpoints from a british company, Pendrake miniatures.
I'll have a replay when they arrive in the mail. _________________

Probably one of my favourite scenario for obvious reasons, i'll give the Fall of Berlin a go next tuesday using all of my recently purchased 3D elements (pendraken miniatures and gale force 9's FOW elements).
Also i'll take into account all the comments posted here to update the scenario. Thanks for those.
The big challenge for me will be to make the tank situation more interesting, especially for the soviets.
More comments and pictures soon. _________________

I've had a solo replay of gotterdamerung tonight.
I didnt change the soviet line up.
But added the following special rule for the germans:
"More reserves":
All the 88's gain the "entrenched" SA (thank you Sharpe for this one).
Add 2 german paratroopers (for more historical accuracy too- they set up as normal infantry).
Add 1 SS panzer IV.
Here are the pictures from the battle:

It was a tough battle where i used my FOW 3Ds elements, Memoir tiles and Pendraken minis we painted.
The soviets won and raised the flag. _________________

Dude, that scenario looks INSANE. I think RB should make a custom map for that senario designed in consultation with you.. The AAM map, though well used by you, just doesn't do your urban scenario or Berlin justice.
If RB will do it, I personally commit to buy you a copy for Xmas, buy one myself and put that scenario at the top of my playlist.
