Nothing on this forum for a month, probably pending Flank Speed more popular.
Dogfights looks cool and easy to play. I like the fighter pics in this thread, the ground looks good too. But if they are used on a map that has the same terrain, the river and coast under the planes will not match up when they move. The ones without the river and coast should be ok though.
I am going to print out the rules, cards, map and some planes to try this game out next week. I wish I had some cool miniatures, but that will come later if I can handle the game
What I like about it is that the rules are some-what basic and simple. I think I can teach my brother this game in a few minutes while we are driving in an RV for six hours.
ND, as usual, made a cool rules sheet. I hate (no, really I do) criticizing something I could not have done better myself, but it could be a bit more linear and easier to follow. I like the one-page though, and the bubbles are perfect. I just didn't know where to start. Graphics are awesome of course.
Is there some way to keep track of speed so that you remember throughout each turn how fast each plane is going and how many hits they have left? I am going to make some cards, each with a number starting at 2 and ending at max speed. The current speed of the plane will be the top card- kind of like lineskeepers in football have a pole with the down number on it so people know what down it is. American football. |

Nice hexes Stoj. Why haven't you let the rest of us know about these. Bring them down next time you come to game. _________________ KEEPER OF THE GOOD TRADERS LIST
