Post subject: Press / Determined Attack vs. ASW

Last night we had an interesting situation arise...
A Barracuda was attacking my U-66 (ASW attack). A BF-109 aborted the Baracuda. The Barracude used its Determined Attack and still attacked the Sub.
I thought the spirit of the rule was for Dive Bombers...not for ASW attacks, but the rules do not prevent its use in this manner. What are my fellow Forumini members thoughts on this?

Honestly I have not used the Baracuda yet. If "determined attack" reads like "press the attack" then it only works if a ship is the one that aborts it not a plane.
Curious to see others responses.

| In no translation of the rules could he have done that, as determined attack specifically stipulates being aborted by ship's AA. |

Thanks for confirming, I knew this was the case for "press the attack", but was only assuming "determined" is the same.

Also, please note that the SA addresses only torpedoes and bombs. ASW isn't mentioned, so the SA cannot be used for ASW anyway. So there are actually two reasons why that Barracuda should never have attacked.
