Post subject: KM/RM vs US Carriers

This is what we tried yesterday...300 points per side. Large Hotz map, planes can move at speed=vital armor.
Axis
Tirpitz, Sheer, 4 BF-109's, 5 U-510
Littorio, 2xAquila, 4xRe2001, 3xPegaso
US
Tennessee, Alaska, Enterprise, Yorktown, Princeton, St. Lo, San Diego, 3xPhelps, 3xHelldiver, 3xAvenger, 3xHellcat
The Tirpitz and Bf-109's has some early AA success, the Aquila's lasted until round 3 (damn Helldivers !) and Littorio succumbed to the Avengers. However, Tirpitz and Sheer took down Alaska and Tennessee, then the U-boats got into the US carriers and it was all over...
A fun game, turned out a lot differeent than I expected, mostly due to the BF-109's aborting something eveery round, and Tirpitz shooting down almost every plane that attacked it...
Next time I think I'd swap the 2 Aquilas for 2 more BF-109's and 2 Picchiatellis...Tirpitz is a beast though ! |

maybe your tirpitz is a beast but mine is cursed it has fought twice and been vitaled twice on the first attack against it
