Post subject: Jammed Mount (not the -6 question)

If you botch two "Jammed Mount" rolls in a row, but not the third, are you still under the -3 penalty on the 3rd turn?
For example:
Turn 1: I roll a 1 for Jammed Mount and I'm at -3 dice until the end of Turn 2.
Turn 2: Again, I roll a 1 for Jammed Mount, but due to effects with the same name not stacking I'm still only at -3 dice.
Turn 3: My Jammed Mount roll for this turn is a 4. Does my ship still take the -3 penalty?
On Turn 2, the ship was still under the effects of the SA when it was applied again. Does this second application "bounce off", or does it just hang around behind the scenes waiting for the first one to wear off?
The TF FAQ doesn't directly address this, but it would seem to imply the second failure is simply lost due to effect stacking being prohibited, thus no -6. |

I've always played that the effect of the second failure was to extend the effect back up to two turns. I know the dice don't stack, but it seems like you'd still have to make the roll and have it count for something. _________________

Ooh good question. Since Wizards has said that SAs of the same name do not stack I would imagine that the 2nd Jammed Mount does not happen because the ship is still suffering from turn 1's Jammed Mount.
That, to me, would mean on Turn 3 the ship does not suffer from -3. _________________

I agree. The dice don't stack, so there's only a -3 penalty and not a -6, but it still extends it to the end of next turn. _________________

| SA's of the same name don't stack, but that doesn't mean they don't overlap. If they didn't want it to do so, they wouldn't have you roll again while jammed, I assume. |
