Post subject: USMC BAR Gunner

I came up with this card today and would like some feedback. I am trying to bolster my Marine units and thought I'd add some Thompson & BAR Gunners. The Thompson Gunner's SAs pretty much matched the Marine Rifleman, so I didn't do anything special to it, but the BAR Gunner didn't have the "Gung-ho" or the "Close Assault" SAs that both the Thompson and Marine Rifleman have. So here is my Marine BAR Gunner, I didn't change the cost value since the M1 Garand Rifle and Marine Rifleman were the same cost:
Feedback? Keep it friendly. |

I would keep the ATK the same as the BAR Gunner card since it is the same weapon. Reduce CA to 6. Up the cost to 5PT. _________________ James 1:17

I was debating about that when I noticed that the Marine Rifleman had an ATK of 2 for long distance (soldier) which is absent on the M1 Garand Rifle, even though both services used the M1 Garand (though the USMC was largely outfitted with M1903 & M1917 Springfields in the early part of the war- if I remember correctly). I also understand that the marksmanship requirements in the USMC are more stringent than the other branches, so that is why I made the change in that value. As far as the cost of the unit, that I'm still debating. |

The "2" is pretty much worthless on both cards. You can't shoot at anything except disrupted artillery. You should go with "4" and LIMITED RANGE 6 at best.
Why does this card cost 4 when it does more than the Marine Rifleman? It has one fewer die at medium range, but it has COVERING FIRE. Not a very valuable SA, but it's more valuable than the Marine Rifleman. No one's going to take the ordinary rifleman if this unit is available. _________________

I will second that opinion. |

| I aggree with the comment on the attack of 2 being useless and I would drop it. I lean towards giving automatic rifles and sub-machinegunners a lower or no CA and giving them a hand-to-hand like 9 or 10, because of the rapid fire of the weapon. |
