Post subject: Local House Rules Ratified By Our Play Group...
|
|
|
We finally came to a consensus on some common sense House rules and have put them into practice with great results...
1. Commanders (Soldiers) can spot for Indirect Fire out to 4 hexes.
2. Spotting counts as an attack.
3. Spotters can only spot from vehicles with "Fighting Platform" and because spotting counts as an attack, only if that vehicle doesn't move during the assault phase.
4. Units with "Indirect Fire" cannot benefit from Enfilade Fire unless they have direct line of site to the target.
5. Units without attack values cannot trigger Enfilade Fire. (Trucks, Jeeps, etc.)
These have improved some of the more abusive combinations like the strike and fade Rangers spotter, and the spotter in Jeep/Kubel. Commander values increase as well without becoming broken. _________________

We do the same thing aswell, except we also include aircraft to be able to spot in place of their attack. _________________

How do you determine line of sight from a plane? Can it "see" over the trees (because it is flying) and if so how far can it see? |

We determine that if a plane can attack a said target, then it can spot for a unit to attack that target. Any unit that the aircraft could not attack, it cannot spot for against.
It must be within medium range to any units it wishes to use as targets for indirect fire. _________________
