Good job indeed. Anyone that could have managed to amass 45 points with those tough question deserves a big hats off. He must have worked almost as hard coming up with the answers as Sharpe must have putting the questions together! It must have been very tough putting together a list of 20 questions that this combined crowd would have this much trouble with.
To summarize:
5 questions no one could answer
6 questions had only 1 person answer correctly
The most people answering a question correctly was 11 but that was a bit of a fluke I guess.
Overall there was an average of a bit less than 3 correct answers per question.
I only saw about 12 of the questions and maybe half of those did I pursue beyond the "What the %#*& is that!!!" phase. Of those I only submitted two or three answers and got one correct. That freeky cross between a toucan and a tank drove me crazy and took up the better part of two days as I scoured the known world looking for pictures of prototype Panzer IIIs.
I'm curious how people went about finding their answers? Obviously the questions were such that a simple Google search wasn't going to give you what you were looking for. You had to dig a bit further. Did you use the internet entirely or other reference books or a combination of the two? _________________ Trade List at:

I had to think of about 75 questions. I eliminated dozens until I came up with google-proof questions.
I left the Gerald Ford question in because you never hear that story.
Some required a bit of reasoning, like the comic strip question. If you google "WW2 comic strips," you can find the British "Jane" strip and that leads you to "Male Call." You've got to remember that it's a WW2 quiz and that would eliminate Peanuts and Garfield.
For the Stauffenberg question, if you google "OKH organization section" instead of "German army high command organization section," you get the answer.
Some just required multiple Google image searches like the Romanian paratroopers. The plane was a red herring. The easiest way to find it was just google image search WW2 paratroopers and change the name of the country each time.
Anyway, I'm glad everyone enjoyed it. It's difficult to gauge what everyone knows.
Thanks to ND for all his help. _________________

I used Google quite a bit. But it was risky to say the least. I was way off and suckered in a few times Books are far more trustworthy IMHO.
The only times when I got it right was when I had a hunch to start with other than just an image.
Actually, if you don't have a clue to start with, then you aren't really excercising your memory but rather your Google skills alone. So I gave up on Google because it defeats the point. It can however be useful to verify your hunches

I used Google, my limited supply of reference material, and my intuition. 99% of my knowledge and all of my books are seaside, so the land and air based questions were the most difficult for me. _________________
