German, I hope, since it came from a German-English dictionary.
My last name is "Bean," hence my username. However, my dad's family is entirely German, so I don't know how our surname would up with an English spelling. I have this as yet unproven theory that the German spelling of our last name got anglicized somewhere along the way. |
