2x M4A3 (105) Sherman - 48
2x M24 Chaffee - 48
2x Veteran M4 Sherman "Rhino" - 52
1x M3 Half-Track - 8
1x "Screaming Eagle" Paratroopers - 9
1x "Screaming Eagle" Captain - 11
1x Hunting Sniper - 9
4x Rangers - 28
2x M1 81mm Mortar - 24
2x Resourceful Hero - 8
2x Quad 50 - 20
1x "Red Devil" Captain - 7
2x Marines M2-2 Flamethrower - 10
1x Ammo Dump - 10
My basic logic behind this build is to use the paratroopers to drop behind and take out any support units, and throw one hero down with them. The Chaffees and Rhinos will push forward quickly and secure any advantageous positioning in the middle of the map, followed by the Quad 50 in the back of of the M3. When the Quad 50 is unloaded, one hero will be placed in the same hex. In cover at the starting area, the other Quad 50, the ammo dump, one flamethrower, both mortars, and the sniper will hold back to fight a likely air and paradrop raid.
The M4A3s and most of the infantry will advance towards the enemy units in a route different than the Rhinos, etc, took, possibly to take MG teams out before the infantry arrives. The M4A3s will dominate anything hiding in cover, and the captain with the rangers will have a similar advantage. I'm hoping to use my definite speed advantage to create a solid defensive line, backed up by mortar fire and troops behind enemy lines. The paratroopers and hero should be able to at least scare some of his units into less than perfect areas. I have a feeling he will field a Veteran Tiger, so my aim is to use being on either side of his army to force the tiger into a close-assaultable position for one of my heroes to exploit. The Chaffees succeeded at taking it out from behind the only other time he fielded it, so I have that as a fallback.
The only units I know he will most likely take are the Veteran Tiger, 1-2 Flak 88's, a Stuka, 2-4 MG teams, 1-2 Fallschirmjagers, and maybe a Tiger I, Puma, and a Wespe. _________________
