Post subject: help with US D Day planes

I've started work on an Omaha/ pointe du hoc scenario and would very much like to add some US air suport.
problem is: the two books i'm using (Beevors new book and heimdal's 1st US army) only mention the p47 as being around to support the US troops.
As far as i know this plane hasnt been released.
any suggestion

Wasn't the P-38 also used there? I think the P-51, maybe the B model.
