Stonne, French Ardennes, 15th May 1940.

Having established a fragile bridgehead over the river Meuse on May 14th, General Guderian was ordered to secure the South flank against possible french counter-attacks. The focus of XIXth Armee Korps became the village of Stonne in the French Ardennes. The village was a key tactical objective, it lead South towards the back of the Maginot line and West towards Paris. Having the best possible elements, Guderian sends the 10th Panzer Division reinforced by the veteran Grossdeutschland regiment to take Stonne.
At the same time general Huntziger sends his 3rd DIM (division d'infantrie motorisée) North to Stonne...

Maps:

West-Map 2 (Upside down)-Map 5 (Upside down)-East

Special Rules and Victory Conditions:
To create the village of Stonne place a city tile on the middle road hex of map2, then one on the right and one to the left. This is Stonne. Each hex is worth 5 victory points.
To the north east of the village the two mountain hexes are "Le Pain du Sucre" on map 2 also. this high ground overlooked the south of Stonne and was a key onjective too. Each hex is worth 5 victory points.

at the end of turn 6, the player controlling more points is declared the winner.

GH,

We finally got to play this all the way out tonight.  It was a well balanced force and a good fun battle overall.  The Germans really took the fight to the French, but the Char B's out maneuvered my PAK, and took out all the PZ IVs but we closed in, and had we had a turn 7, the Germans would have captured 1/3 of Stonne and held the hill hexes.  Since we ran out of turn, the French held more town hexes and had a few more points at the end.

I'd really like to replay this since our difference in points was less than 20.

Good work my friend.  Keep the scenarios rolling!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Very Happy
true, both forces are rather balanced, a lucky dice roll always comes handy in this scenario. I havent played it in a while but from what i remember the Sig and pak are crucial for a german victory while the french can count on their B1s to hold the ground. Cool

The deciding game in a series. I'm not sure where the term comes from.
