Post subject: Ground Scale?
I am working on some rules for a 1:1 15mm company level game that incorporates some aspects of AAM and some other games. I am basing infantry similar to how FOW does it, with 3 bases equaling a squad and about 12 bases equaling a platoon (depends on the nationality). I am using a 3" hex mat and I am struggling to figure out the ground scale. True scale would be about 7.5m per hex, but this would mean a short range of 10-12 hexes, and about 40 hexes effective range for infantry guns. I am considering calling the scale 75m per hex and fudging it but I am not sure if that feels right. Anybody have any suggestions (or is my math wrong?) for a realistic scale with 15mm mini's but still allows for a table top game? _________________ Nuts! - General Anthony McAuliffe

Buzz,
The original AAM ground scale was 1" = 50 meters/yards. The reference has been removed from the instruction sheet, but this ratio is rather common for three dimensional 15mm miniatures games. Why not try it with your hexes? _________________ HHRgamer |
