Yes we are back once more onto the breach-so come on come all.And credit for are new style of Tourney thread goes to hey yu.As always the consummate gamer and all around good guy.
DATE:Saturday,April 11th ,2009
TIME:10:30AM -6:00PM(Lunch break after 2nd round)
ENTRY FEE:Free as always
PRIZE SUPPORT:War at Sea boosters and Axis and Allies Boosters.Plus special prize support ranging from Books to DVDS.

BUILDS AND GUIDLINES
You do not have to enter both the ground and Naval parts of the tourney for a chance to win a prize. But for a chance at the special prize support you must enter both.
GROUND-You must build a 150 point Japanese force and a 150 point US/Australian or British/Chinese force(The allied player may build a force exclusively out of one of the four nations.). Units allowed Soldiers,Vehicles ,Obstacles. No support units or paratroopers(soldier or vehicle). One hero per build
Naval-You must build a 200 point Japanese force and a 200 point US/Australian or British force.No aircraft carriers or transports allowed in builds.

SPECIAL RULES
Ther will be a random effects chart. Every turn players roll 2 d6 and will refer to the chart for its effects. Sorry will not post it as its a surprise. Plus there will be a ground and naval random effects chart
Japanese recieve Concealed to there infrantry if Defending.
Darkness rules are in effect for the naval game no ifs ands or butts. The Twilight option will be used.
And each naval force will be escorting a transport force. Each transport will be labeled and specified as to what it is carrying. And set specific victory conditions will be alotted to each ship depending on the cargo. Plus each round and /or game will have differant cargo lists as so the players will not think they know whats on each ship

TIMED GAME:50 Minutes
AAM and WAS TOKENS: I will be bringing my big bin of tokens so have no fear. And you are welcome to bring your own.
MAPS:
GROUND-Jungle Maps from the Desert map pack and the Solomon Island map from HBF will be used.No hex tiles are permitted
NAVAL-Guadalcanal Iron Bottom side of the naval map will be used.No island hex squares or reefs will be permitted.
FORMAT
The tournament will be Round robin. Each person will play 5 Games. The winners will be determined by the best record. Ties will be decided on the record against opposing tied player and/or margin of points in the games they played.
The players will draw a slip of paper before each round to determine if they are doing naval or ground.
Game Mechanics
In the game the players will roll off. The player with the highest roll will determine which force they will play (Axis or Allies). The other player will choose which side of the map they want. The players will then roll to determine who sets up first. Vehicles will deploy 1 hex and Soldiers up to 3 hexes from their edge of the map.
The games will have an objective and play 10 turns or until time is called. If turn 10 is over or time has elapsed then the winner is determined by the player who siezed the objective. If the objective is still contested then the winner will be decided on who inflicted the most point casualty. If time has elapsed and players are in a middle of a turn then they will continue to finish out the turn.
