Post subject: [Greece 1938] PZL P.24F

The PZL P.24 was a biplane fighter aircraft designed in the mid-1930s. Despite being a better fighter than the P.11, the P.24 was not acquired by the Polish Air Force, which preferred to wait for the PZL.50. When it became clear that the PZL.50 would not be ready in time to counter the imminent German attack, production of the P.11 was resumed together with orders for P.24s. However, no P.24s were produced before the war started, and none were used in the Polish Campaign in 1939. The aircraft had greater success abroad. It was the main Greek fighter at the time of the Italian attack in 1940. The Greeks shot down 36 Italian and 4 German aircraft for the loss of 35 P.24s.
Due to its carburettor engine, the P.24F is very sensitive to engine cutouts (starvings) when pushing the stick forward, since fuel is fed to the engine with gravity. This may place it at a disadvantage when diving. Also, notice that this aircraft has the same top speed at all altitudes. So, it should simply try to stay away from its opponent's best altitude range.
Some of its natural opponents include Italian G-50s and CR42s.

for a minis I googled and found this over at TMP
"A friend of mine (Fatman) uses the Navwar Pzl11 as what it is and the Scotia version as a P24, bcause of the difference in size between the two versions of the model, with only minor modifications to the Scotia plane." _________________ Always Flying. Always Fighting. RIP JIMMY.

Nice find. in practice, the only perceptible difference is that the P.24 has a cockpit canopy. _________________
