I once mentioned this film as one of the best RN action movies.
I was surprised to find it on You Tube:

The 'River Yangtse' is actually the River Orwell in Suffolk. Both ships are ex-WW2.

The real HMS Amethyst was used for close-ups, her sister ship was used for moving shots.

This clip is edited highlights from the first part of the film.

Ahh, the cardinal error of artillery in war movies - no recoil! (Don't worry, Enemy at the Gates did it too with their Panzers IIIs)

Interesting film though, don't see much media on the Yangtze, in English at least.
