Terrain Type Soldier Vehicles Cover Comments
Light Wood Building 1 MP 1 MP S
Wood-Frame Building 1 MP 1 MP S/V
Stone Building 1 MP 1 MP S(+1)/V
Factory                1 MP 1 MP S(+1)

OK, that didn't work the way I wanted.  How do I take my table from Word and make it appear here?

Use periods instead of spaces, most forums don't allow you to type more than one space and just count one space.

I've got a table with rows and columns, but I can't copy and paste it as a single thing.

Use the cut tool and then paste it into paint then save it as a .jpg then upload it to photobucket then copy the link to your post then go take a nap from all the work you did to get the stupid thing in your post! Something like this:

Yeah, if you blow it up a little the lines will stay, the conversion to .jpg loses some of the fine detail.

I like that. Save modifiers for different terrain, very cool.

I couldn't get it to work from Word, so I switched to Excel. It is easier to do charts in Excel in my opinion. It is a little bulkier because I used the stencil font, but it is all there.

Wow!  If you don't mind, I'll let you know when I'm completely done and you can do that again.

No problem, I have it saved and can easily update it. Feel free to have me make charts or what ever visual materials we need, I like doing that kind of stuff. When we start doing the rule book I can help out there with the typing and layout etc.

Special Rules

    A.  Hexside obstructions lie along the side of the hexes.  LOS may be traced into or out of the hex immediately behind the bocage, but not through the bocage into farther hexes.  Bocage does not block LOS traced exactly along the spine of the hex.  Walls never block LOS.  See examples below:

    B.  Cliffs are high sheer hills and their LOS effect is similar to bocage.  The only difference is that units on a bluff, or units firing at a target in a bluff hex, may ignore any blocking terrain within two hexes of the bluff hex when LOS is traced through the bluff hexside.

    C.  When a vehicle attempts to cross a creek or stream hexside, it may pay one extra Movement Point to increase its Movement Roll by +1.  The vehicle may not exceed its Speed and does not recover the Movement Point if the expenditure proves unnecessary.

    D.  Trails and roads allow units to traverse impassable terrain, enter terrain without a movement roll or pay a lower cost to enter a hex.  In all cases, the unit must be moving across a hexside where the trail or road connects the two hexes.  Trails only apply to soldier units and soldier-artillery without the Special Ability “Large.”  In addition, a vehicle gains a “Road Bonus” each phase:  there is no cost in Movement Points the first time it moves between two hexes connected by a road.  We have differentiated between paved and dirt roads for use in scenarios with weather conditions.

    E.  A soldier-infantry, soldier-spotter or soldier-heavy weapon that begins a Movement or Assault Phase in a hex with a church steeple may use its entire movement to climb the steeple.  The LOS of units in a steeple attacking is only blocked by forest, jungle, mountains and hills.  LOS of spotters in a steeple is blocked only by mountains.  Only one unit at a time may occupy the steeple.

This is a rough draft (I left out a few types from the chart).

Comments and suggestions welcome.

I fiddled with the font to trying and make it a little smaller, the Stencil font is big and is caps only. Let me know if I missed something or you want something changed. Also, if anybody needs the .xls let me know and I will email.

I like the terrain chart, especially the different kinds of river and road/trail. I don't see a difference between dirt and paved roads, but I imagine that a dirt road is kinda like a trail for Soldiers (so no movement rolls and double cost necessary, but no road bonus).

I'm looking forward to your rules for snow and mud Smile .
