Tentative Guidelines for Vehicle Cover Rolls:
Char 2C = 10
M3 Lee = 8
King Tiger = 7
Sherman = 6
Pz IVG = 5
H39 = 4
Tankette = 3
Is this a rough spectrum of size? _________________

I'm not sure how the FA cover rules work exactly (maybe you can give me, or point me to, an example using a vehicle's cover value and certain terrain types?), but doesn't a value of 8 or higher make it almost impossible to ever successfully make a cover roll?
Is a Tiger II in the woods really that much easier to spot and hit than a Pz IV in the woods? If anything, larger vehicles would be easier to hit than smaller ones when they're out in the open, where their difference in size is impossible to hide/disguise, but cover is something of a leveler in this regard.
Also, on a more specific note, the M3 Lee was only 4 cm / less than 2" higher than the Tiger II, while of course being less wide and less long. I'm not sure what the criteria are for a vehicle to fall in a certain cover category, but I think it would always be easier (or at the very least, never be harder) to hit a Tiger II than a Lee. |

See sample Terrain Effects Chart at:

If you PM me an email, I'll send you the excel file which is updated. See also cover modifiers in the rules. I'd be glad to send you the latest version of those as well.
This was just the roughest idea. I wanted some comments to refine my thinking. I see your points. Thank you. _________________
