Soon after arriving in north africa in february 1941, the german afrika corps, led by rommel pushes the commonwealth forces back east towards Egypt. With tobruk almost in sight the 15th panzer division is ordered towards gazala the last main town before the port. Defending the area is the australian 9th infantry division and the remains of several badly mauled british tank brigades. Will they be able to stop Rommel?
map:
map D2
(The d2 marking should be in the upper left hand side)
place a town hex in the middle of the map and then another one just left of it.
you should now have 3 town hexes in the middle of the map along the road. this is the road to gazala.
9th australian infantry division plus remnants 3rd tank brigade:
set up up to 3 hexes from the right side (including half hexes)
inspiring lieutnant
owen smg
veteran smle x4
bren gunner
6 pounder at gun
vickers mg
universal carrier
m3 stuart x2
humber scout car x2
AK's 15th panzer division:
place up to 3 hexes from the left side of the map(including half hexes)
ss leader
mg 42
mauser x8
pak38
kubelwagen
sdkfz251
panzer II ausf c
panzer III ausf f x2
elite panzer IV
victory conditions:
the winner is the player controlling more town hexes than the other at the end of turn 6. Will the road to tobruk be breached? |

General Hoth...
This is a great game and playing it with just what you have put is great... The British kind of have a small amout of guns to stop the advance, but the soldiers came through in the end.... _________________ Scallywag for life and No Man will tell Me different!!! Aarrh... |

The owen didn't end up in the desert

What about using the Aussie officer. _________________

thanks Raevski, didn't know it was not there in africa. Thompson sounds good.
as for the officer and if i remember correctly (i designed this scenario last year!!), i used the british one for the special SA which gives the Allies a little edge movement-wise. _________________

Yes, the Owen didn't see service outside of Asia. And the UK was using the Thompson before the US entered the war. They mainly bought the M1928 version (the one with the 50 round drum magazine). When the US entered the war the Thompson was in short supply so the design was simplified to increase production. The result was the M1A1 with the straight 20 or 30 round clip. _________________ Trade List at:
