Nice list. Glad to see the Pearl BB's and lots of carriers. No Royal Oak??? Or did I miss it?
No Royal Oak. Can't fit them all. _________________ WAS

| WOW, I have to say you included just about every Usn and Ijn on my list, those sets would make me a happy camper for sure. Thanks for the hard work. Why was one set 60 pieces and the rest 40 ? |

| also noticed you have the Hyuga appearing twice. Is that by design? One for the hybrid conversion, and the other as a normal BB? |

Me being the IJN freak geek that I am I desperately need the Kaga and the Hiryu. That will complete all 6 carriers that bombed Pearl Harbor.
Hope, hope, (fingers crossed) hope!
All praise Weedsrock!

I noticed two ships being listed twice.
Colorado - in both sets VII and VIII
Hermes - in sets IX and VII (or VIII)
A couple of questions and suggestions. Did the British use the B-26 Marauder as a patrol plane?
Turkey is another possibility, Turkey actually declaring war on Germany and Japan in 1945. Though the DoW came too late for Turkey to do much in Europe. Besides, the Greeks need their traditional enemy. |

Oops. I will check those. Too many ships!
The British (and South Africans) were the only ones that used the B-26 in a "maritime' environment that I could find. In the Mediterranean. The US had them briefly in the Pacific but withdrew them in favor of the B-24 and simplicity for logistics. _________________

| Awesome list Weeds! As usual you really have a knack for these lists. And you are right that some will see something missing that they feel is a must have. Me included. Something you may want to keep in mind is the A-20 Havoc. The UK and French had them in use in 1940 and the US started using them after. You might also move the Block MB-151/152 up in the list as several countries could use as reprints. The UK made use of the PBY (which spotted the Bismark) and would give the UK torp planes and bombers an added boost. I think there may be some other aircraft that could be tossed in and add repaint value but can't think of any more offhand. |

Yes, once as a battleship, once as a hybrid. _________________

It takes a few sets before there are enough new sculpts to make a bigger set with reprints. Making a larger set allows me to put in more new uncommon sculpts. It is a balancing act that is more complex than it looks. Plus I figure WotC wants to get maximum use out of each sculpt. But mainly it is to create more 'slots' for uncommons.
Rares are a problem because there are not enough of them. And they are the 'anchor pieces' of any set.

I have fixed some of the duplicates. A 'British' Tribal was added as a result of an open slot. _________________

Darn, I was hoping you had some inside information that Wotc would do the occasional 60 piece set again in the future. I also play the Star Wars Miniature game, and the game has gone rather stale since the reduction to 40 piece sets about 3 sets ago, but that game is on it's 15th expansion I believe where as WAS is only the 4th and there are still so many options to keep WAS fresh. |

Guys, remember weeds is just doing this for amusement.
There is no insider information in these lists its just for fun, so try not to be so serious. |

As far as a IJN DE is concerned I would argue for the Tachibana class Nashi because she was the only IJN ship to serve in the post-war JMSDF as a radar trials ship post 1955 per my Conway's page 196. _________________ Amatures study tactics, rank amatures study strategy, professionals study wargames.

Serious CUDOS weedsrock2! Not sure what to post that hasn't already been said but lord what list . I guess no sense in asking for anything less. I can't even begin to imagine the games/campaigns. Makes me want to hoard cargo ships and landing crafts. _________________
