Of course it's a matter of taste. The early war stuff just doesn't aline well with the pieces that I currently have and I don't have the cash to get everything. So I'll be picking up singles for this set for the most part and not cases or boosters. I'm sure there are plenty of others who are loving what they are seeing but they currently have a very different collection than I have.

I don't have a problem with reprints. I have nothing against most of the reprints from the V2 sets. I also play the naval AAM and there are lots of useful reprints in those sets as well. I can't think of one I don't want. I just think it's really bad form to reprint bottom of the barrel stuff like the motorcycle half track. It's a piece that no one uses because of it's cost and purpose. The Kubelwagon is a much better value for less points. Reprinting this piece is like reprinting the subchaser from the naval 1st set.
The only reason it's there is because they needed a certain number of reprints to carry over to the new set but failed to plan ahead enough to realize they didn't have enough early war pieces in the previous sets to reach their quota. I'll bet this comes back to bite them too. There's already a good number of people on this forum that are not going to be buying cases or boosters and sticking to the singles market. It's pieces like this that cause that.

Quite the opposite. No one is defending WotC, in fact I am one that does not go along with them, but this system of rare/uncom/com is based on their marketing not our wishes.
Which pieces do you think would have fit an Early War set and which of those should have been Rares?

I agree with you... but... I mean, I gotta accept that they tend to reprint stuff like Brixia Mortar or MotoHalftrack. It's their way... it's not good, but...
I do not believe I will purchase a case, but because of financial restrictions right now. I will try to trade for the pieces I want.
But still there are tons of stuff I would need from this Early War set. Lets wait and see the full list of items before deciding some more

This is gonna be a good set.
No really, the overall unit selection seems to more than just make up for krad and kübel reprints and if the molds and paint jobs (my only quibble with NA) are good, I'd dare to say it'll be the best V2 set yet.
I'm quite happy how this has turned out so far, good job!
Now if there'd only be some more official support and some pics, that would make my day.

T-28 Combat history
The T-28 was deployed during the Invasion of Poland and the Winter War against Finland. During the initial stages of the Winter War, the tank was used in direct fire missions against Finnish pillboxes. In the course of these operations it was found that the armour was inadequate and programs were initiated to upgrade it. Frontal plates were upgraded from 50 mm to 80 mm and side and rear plates to 40 mm thickness. With this up-armoured version the Red Army broke through the main Finnish defensive fortification, the vaunted Mannerheim Line.
According to Russian historian M. Kolomietz's new book T-28. Three-headed Stalin's Monster, over 200 T-28s were knocked out during the Winter War, but only 20 of them were in irrecoverable losses (including 2 captured by the Finnish Army). Due to proximity of the Kirov Plant, all other knocked-out tanks were repaired, some of them over five times. [1]

The Finns knew the T-28 as the Postivaunu ("mail wagon" or stagecoach), a name which alluded to Finnish troops' discovery of Red Army field mail sacks inside the first destroyed T-28. Another explanation is that the high profile of the tank resembled the old west stagecoaches of the United States. Finns captured two T-28s during the Winter War and five in Continuation War, totalling 7 vehicles.
The Soviets had 411 T-28 tanks when the Germans invaded in June 1941.[2] Most T-28s were lost during the first two months of the invasion, many of them abandoned after mechanical breakdown. Some T-28s took part in the 1941 winter defence of Leningrad and Moscow,[3] but after late 1941, they were rare in Red Army service; a few were operated by enemy forces.[4]
Today three T-28s remain, two in Finland and one in Moscow. One restored T-28 is on display in Finnish field camouflage in the Parola Tank Museum, Finland.
Now this is a good unit to have in ones collection

You are welcome, just wanted to point out that T28 should be a good unit within a lot of scenarios, early period of the war of course.
I am curios what version of the T28 we will have. Anyway its a good choice imo.

Now, you see, this is the stuff that makes it so much more cool to get these T-28, when you have some background story of the vehicle.
This should be a regular part of the, sadly, missing opening salvos...
And maye something to have in the AAM Newsletter?
Everybody loves to read about the units and see some pictures, right?

once I did for my playgroup a newsletter but it was more of a "fun newsletter".
after each game I would do a card with some irony in it about the "enemy commanders".
here is one:
in this specific game, my friend Hagi thought of destroying me by playing an IS3... after I damaged the thing ... all his enthusiasm vanished
the SA's on the card tell you how he played this game

nothing wrong, but I like the privacy... so I will put up one more card, because we are going off-topic.
this card is from a game limited to 1941, historical conditions, Germany vs USSR, no planes.
my friend Hagi always chooses the BT7 and always moves it with so much precaution that it becomes annoying.
I never get a shot in for that bugger, he always moves it back and forward until I lose my mind in anger and the damn thing is fast...
Oh yeah, another thing he does is to brag about poor old soviet tanks and the mighty german panzers... anything that a german panzer has and the soviet have not, it's an unfair advantage...
well this is a strategy, he tries to induce to me metal fatigue... and then I make mistakes... lots of times he succeeded I must agree but not anymore.

The units out of that half case look like a bunch of junk. Morris Recon car? They picked that turd as a reprint? OMG
Our group just decided to order 8 cases between 5 of us and now I'm thinking that's too much. Some of the infantry might be ok, that's the most I can get excited about. Belgian tank destroyers and other 9 or 10 point tanks just don't blow my skirt up.

Remember, this is Early War. None of the armor in this set will be competitive against later war stuff. I agree that the Morris and the Kettenkrad are disappointing, but this set is for scenario players. It will never appeal to power gamers. I am excited to get more early war French and Belgian stuff, but I prefer to play historical scenarios.
Some like pepperoni, some like cheese.
