Looking good....I recall you showing this to me when I visited.

That is a heck of alot of AAM minis, but looks great.

Have you played out some games yet....my thought at the time was cool, but the map will have to be huge to accomodate the larger peices.

Frankly I don't see the point...you'd be much better of with either the original pieces or a game like Jeff Stein's The War Game.  As it is now the board just looks super cluttered and unwieldy.  Unless you actually use the A&A mini rules for combats which is just silly as a full turn (all nations) could take a week or more.

I think they are using A&A rules or a combination form the various A&A sets.  The point is it just looks more visually apealing to have actual AAM/WAS units from each nation for the game pieces on a super huge map (Although it all had to cost a pretty penny).

Kind of like when we were kids having the the little green army men or the nice painted ones from britain.

I doubt we will see anything like it from WoTC, but is is very unique and looks cool IMO.

GAR,

What rules are you using?

I have a map that uses the regular pieces out of the Board games.  That map is 33" x62" or about 15 sq ft. This was the play testing map

The map I have posted is 45.5" x96" or about 32 sq. ft

How can you not see the point?

The clutter is a Issue on Great Britain but not really anywhere else. And after 1 full round of movements and stacking of Armies and navies, the potential clutter all but disappears.

You had mentioned the "War Game". I personally find that game a Drag. It has to many rules and Combat is resolved in a more complicated manner. I like the KISS method myself.

We are using the AA50 ruleset with Rule inserts from Pacific,European and revised all together
This includes all the rules for the units and any applicable changes made.

we also use a House rule Tech tree of ten techs. Most are revised techs with a few added for flavor

We also use the revised National Advantages and have edited a few so they can work on this map or just completly removed them all together and added a new ones

Very cool AA50 is by far the best edition of A&A to date and Pacific is one of my favorites as well.

It really does look great.  I recall you showing it to me when I visited and thinking you had a lot tied up in it and wondering if it would really happen.  Gald to see it is working out.

So, how many IPCs does it cost for a resupply of Cheese its?  Razz
