Yea i knew it was a risk but i figured if i could get your missouri your cruisers wouldnt be able to bring down my Iowa. That was my plan from the beginning. Too bad my torpedoes were mostly blanks.  Im always up for a rematch.

Yeah, upon seeing your fleet I knew there was no chance for a single BB to kill yours before being sunk by torpedoes. I considered bringing two, either Iowas or Washingtons, but thought it too risky.
Finally I figured out if I sent a big bait at you (ie an Iowa), that might keep your heavy weaponry busy and I could sneak in "round the back", by wiping out the Fletchers and grabbing two objectives quickly. Even if you'd killed my Iowa and gotten the central objective, you'd still need to sink two or three cruisers to get the points. So I never planned to sink your Iowa - Missouri's mission was just to keep it away from my cruisers long enough for them to wipe out the Fletchers, and to assist with secondaries. If I kept the central objective occupied, there was no way you could take the other two.
For my plan to work well, though, I relied on the range advantage, which is why I was so dismayed to lose initiative on turns 1, 2 and 3. But I got very lucky when you didn't sink Chicago right away (I didn't care about Missouri - it wouldn't have changed anything if you sank it on turn 3), as then Toledo would've been hung out to dry and I couldn't have claimed the south objective. Then it would have been over for me.
