Well, if every Kondor gets it's ASM off then you're going to lose no matter what you bring. |
Not if the armor is higher than a destroyer's weak 2. At 2, it is a sure thing. Even by a straffing fighter.
My choice for counter is the Alaska, with a 7 armor- safe against a bomber. In my counter-build, I also chose the Saratoga and Yorktown, with 4 and 5 armor. I think the Kondors will go after the Laffey and Yorktown's 2 and 4 armor. But they might survive a while... |

BTW, have you guys looked through the online matches? The true evil of KoDs fleet only dawned on me slowly as I test-played it and watched how KoD runs it |

| Right, I just did the same as the name suggests, it whooped IJN Fuso's fleet several times. The KGV sailors had to have been sweating in those u-boat infested waters. I just can't seem to figure out the Kondor-Sub-Bf109 counter yet. Its like a rubix cube where I'm just going to take the stickers off and re-apply them... |

Nice fleet. I'll take it on once I'm through with Herky. _________________

Certainly KoDs fleet can be beaten, the real challenge is finding something that can beat it and the 'standard' fleets you would expect to compete at 200 points. _________________

OK KoD I'm changeling you to face a variant of my 150 pt fleet, it took second in a resent tournament a my FLGS and only second because one opponent had unreasonably lucky AA roles
the fleet is as follows:
USS Saratoga x 2=52
Hellcat x 4=40
Wildcat x 2=14
USS Laffey x 2=18
PBY Catalina x 2=14
Helldiver x 2=28
TBF Avenger x 2=28
Martlet Mk. II =6
Total=200
Do you accept. |

Ugh. ANOTHER air heavy build.
I'm game.... Though games with a shit ton of air are a bit drawn out and boring when played online.
I prefer to be sipping on a beer and staring down at a map in cases like this.
You want to set up the map?
Rolls for map.

Actually Tin can, I forgot that I'm playing Okie first and then Herky again. You'll have match #3. _________________

Tincan- look at my previous game with him, the builds are similar but I think your fleet might win, as perhaps mine might have had a played it out a little different.
KOD- my next build will not have so much aircraft, as I agree it is drawn out. |

San Diego x6
Arunta x4
Fencer x2
Martlet x2
Repulse x2
About as much AA can be crammed into a build that isn't air-heavy.
Or... Two Big MOs and 6 Laffeys. _________________

| Sure, you've solved the air problem there, but the subs, Hipper/Zara and Graf Zep x2 are formidable as well. |

Need to be pretty lucky to damage both MOs with Kondors. At ER 5 they can pick off the surface ships easy. The Laffeys counter the subs, at least putting some threat on them. In the San Diego heavy build the subs are more of a problem, with only the 4 Aruntas around to counter them. The dual Repulses can easily handle the surface ships. _________________
