Trading, yes, EvilBay and Single Sellers, no, I've gone this long without buying a single-single and I'm not about to start. _________________

The sprout likes it a lot. He prefers a more 'elaborate' rule set with maneuvering, terrain, and facing rules. He started miniatures gaming with Mechwarrior and still likes that game a lot. He thinks WaS is a little too simple. For my brain power WaS is just right. Plus I prefer naval wargames to army. But I like it okay too. Aircraft are too powerful though. They would be okay if they had a separate attack and AA phase. _________________

Back to the new W@S starter, is there any date more specific than Spring 2010?
I am wondering if it will be timed with SetIV release? _________________ Aaron

I don't think it will be timed with the Set IV release. I think the units will be different. WotC will want a couple of months to 'soak' us with a buying frenzy on the starter packs before releasing Set IV. They know we will need a little time to recharge our wallets. _________________

I can't face reading all 6 pages of the thread at present so sorry if this has been discussed already but why go for a January release date?
Would it not be more sensible to try to push for a late November/early December release so they can take advantage of Christmas sales? Releasing in the immediate post-Christmas 'everyone's skint' phase just seems like a basic mistake for any business.
Of course with the usual delays in release it could end up being a Christmas 2010 release....... |

Then again, they have to time it midway between Sets 3 and 4, ideally close enough to 4 to help build steam but early enough to allow time to rebuild finances... unless they delay Set 4, they're pretty muched backe into a corner of mid-January to early-February. _________________ <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

Actually, there is a lot of buying right after Christmas because so many people give cash or cash cards as gifts now. It is a sad commentary on modern society. But I must admit I have done it myself.
Anyway, for this game I don't think it matters. WaS has a fanatical following that will buy regardless of timing. _________________

I have a picture of the starter! I cant put it on till next sunday. I think the cover has a picture of a WARSPITE Reprint.
It has a square shape, gren borders, top says war at sae, bottom says starter set, contains 8 minatures, cover has picture of six minatures on a map says two player starter set,new tokens, i think one or two subs, The picture was small, islands may be 3D. _________________ "The situation is in doubt".
