It doesn't matter what format we use for cards under review. I always re-do them when they are accepted. I look for a better picture if possible, check their cost one last time, place the "official" forumini navies logo and post them in the stickies. _________________

ok Blackeagle, I summon thee for a bit of help filling out the Japanese destroyers. I'm working simply with information from CombinedFleet.com and would like to represent the DD's as they were before many of them lost main battery turrets to add light AA, my apologies if you have already hashed this out elsewhere.
Starting with your Kamikaze class ship from above:
main-4,4,3
aa-4
asw-4
torp-2,2,1
the next class was Mutsuki, same main armament, but 24' tubes, so it should be
main-4,4,3
aa-4
asw-4
torp-2,2,1,1
longlance
next was Fubuki, transition to 'special-type' lineage, better, larger guns, three more 24in tubes, same armament at Kagero (yukikaze) except perhaps less AA so:
everything like Kagero except
aa4?
it certainly gets long-lance, but does it also get night fighter? I guess it would cost a point more for being a few years earlier, but not sure. Do you have any thoughts about an SA to relfect its problems with stability for being overloaded on a small displacement?
Akatsuki - same as Fubuki
Shiratsuyu - one less gun (so 5, 5in) on less torpedo tube (8) - is this enough to constitute a change in stats (note, if there is an unstable SA this class shouldn't recieve it, its armament was lessened because of that problem)
main-5,4,4
aa, asw like kagero
torp-3,2,2,1
certainly longlance
shiratsuyu - apparently a step back up in armament plus increased size to even out performance, essentially the same as Kagero, certainly add in night-fighter here if we haven't before, these guys were designed for the same thing as Kagero
Kagero is:
main-5,5,4
aa-5
asw-4
torp-3,3,2,1
nightfighter, long-lance
Yugumo - again, I would guess the same as Kagero, perhaps 1 point less for being a later design (1941 vs. 1939)
I know I've left out Shimakaze and Akizuki but I think I've seen those somewhere else, and they don't really have to fit into the same design lineage either.
There is just so little room to play with between cards we already have that these sort of numbers can't be too far off, but I'd like your and everyone's opinion on them anyway. _________________

| I posted cards a while back for all the Japanese DD classes. They're in this thread. |

| None of the Mutsukis ever carried Long Lances. Prior to the war, the Hatsuharus and Shiratsuyus were converted to handle oxygen torpedoes, but none of the Special Type DDs. A few Special Type DDs were converted between Aug 1943 and Sep 1944: Akebono, Hibiki, Uranami, Ushio, Usugumo and Yugiri. |
