Sorry it took so long, but we had to verify the answer. We are 99% sure of the ID on this. If anyone has evidence to the contrary (other than the one website that lists it as the Ryujo), we will be glad to consider it.
13. Miss Lace was the main character in Male Call. This strip was drawn by Milton Caniff (Terry and the Pirates, Steve Canyon) and featured a scantily clad young lady who dated enlisted men and scorned officers. Caniff contributed it free of charge as his part in the war effort and it appeared in over 3000 camp newspapers throughout the world, approximately 500 more than Peanuts or Garfield. Jane was the British equivalent and featured a young lady who had an even smaller clothing allowance than Miss Lace.

I was so certain that these were French paras. I even checked with French para photos and couldn't spot difference with this one, but oh well... I wouldn't have thought to check Romanians. Cool question . _________________

You guys are too good. I've really got to work to find questions.
Besides, Raevski should have answered the Romanian one. _________________

ya know, I thought of Naples, but I didn't think of it as a "major" european city. I was thinking Rome, Paris, Warsaw, etc...

During the war, the population of the city of Naples was about 1 million. Rome was 1.2 million. _________________
