Yes, but this is also a "What if?" game, and what unit fits that description better than Shinano? |
I would rather play a "what if" with units that historically had significance and had a legitimate chance of changing the course of the war. Let's face it by 1943 the IJN fate was decided. For that reason I have yet to even use Hellcats in any of of our scenarios.
In the Pacific Midway and before is the great "what if" in our games. I really hope we get the rest of the early war units first. _________________ Aaron

Ah yes theinfamous "Wiskey Tango Foxtrot" factor aKa Graf Zeplin...but we would not want to go there again.
Whatever they give us I am sure we will continue to buy it up like the plastic crack heads we are. _________________ Aaron

A guess for the 2 French Planes:
A Fighter :
D.520 my best guest, most known and one of the best french fighter.
Bloch MB.152 not at good at the D.520 and with less range: not a good choice INMO
Arsenal VG.33 better than a D.520 in regards of speed and range but only 12 could flight in june 1940 ( for 160 in construction): a big what if.
Morane-Saulnier MS.406 one thing, top speed at 486km/h but the most used french fighter during 1940.
Potez 63-11 ex-fighter transformed for recon and light assault.
A bomber :
Lioré et Olivier LeO.451 :1500 Kg of bomb and speed of 495km/h; good patrol bomber.
Breguet Br.693 top speed 495km/h but a bombload of 8x50kg not usable in a naval game INMO.
Bloch MB.175 600Kg of bomb and speed of 540 km/h; average patrol bomber but a range of 1600km is a NO way for me.
Amiot Am.354 B.4 1200Kg of bombload and speed at 480km/h but a range of 1200km ...
Loire-Nieuport LN.401 navalized dive bomber, 250Kg of bombload (7 or 8) and speed of 380km/h ;with press the attack (one of the 2 escadrille destroyed in 2 day in attacking with succes a motorized company and a bridge ) my best choice
Latécoère L.298 good plane better than a sordfish but a seaplane?
Patrol bomber like catalina : too much choice... |
