Oh we didn't even finish this.  We stopped not even halfway through, amore than 2/3 of my landing units wre still in the game with the tanks blowing the crap out of pillboxes.  On the other hand my French Resistance detachement didn't fair so well and was torn apart by Artillery and MG's.  But due to my tank power we stated that I had won the game.

Day off today.

i did a diaporama with your map. Very Happy Pictures soon.

I find it so much more realistic.  Very Happy
Only problem i find is what blocks LOS what doesnt. I also wonder: have you got a table big enough or do you play on the floor?

sherman in the post!

With the LOS is easy:
Yellow hexes are city hexes.
Brown hexes are marsh hexes.
Green - forest.
Blue - river/sea.
White - open.

It was posted this rule on both scenarios (Adjacent & Trident).

I usually play on the floor these games, since I have a big room available.

It is realistic, of course, it's real terrain Smile I recommend you play op. Adjacent when you get the time. It is a very challenging scenario for both sides.

The DDAY map (the other one that you do not have) uses the same color codes for the hexes, but it is a step forward since the hexes are a little thicker so it is easier on the eye and the map is cleaner (no more loose Google "stickers").

What I forgot about - in these maps - is to assign a color code for hexes with Hills (this for units with Poor/Weak/Excellent Suspension SA). But from now on I will improve this also.

Thank you very much for the Sherman DD, I am waiting for it, after it arrives it will join my other 2 DD's in the first big scenario test for Op. Trident (I need 3 of them in there, I currently have only 2).

If you have any questions or advice for my scenarios pls let me know.

Best Regards and Thanks again for the Sherman. I will call him Hoth Smile

So, today I put this scenario to a good test, together with a friend from my play group.

We played only 3 full turns, meaning the First Phase of the scenario. We proxi-ed 2 Higgins Boats with 2 Amtracks and a DD Sherman with a normal one. Anyway, the game went smoothly with the Allied force managing to free "Beach 3" at the end of turn 3. If we had continued with the game though, from 4th turn the SS Panzer Division from Caen would have been able to move and come towards the landing Allied forces. Actually the Allies would have found it difficult to land on beach 3 quick enough I would say. So, to make it short, can't wait for the first real game for this scenario!!

With this test I have fine-tuned the scenario, making a few adjustments (minor ones) to the builds:

-German Coastal Defenses gain an Opel Blitz and are allowed to move outside their deployment area AFTER one of the Beaches falls into Allied hands.
-German Flak Battery gains one Luftwaffe Inf.
- UK phase 1 build loses one Defiant Paratrooper.
- US phase 1 build loses one Garand.
- SS Panzer Div loses: 1x Opel, 1x Luftwaffe Inf but Gains one Wirbelwind.
- Victory conditions and Engineer SA are re-worded for better understanding.
- Naval Coastal Bombard is 12 Dice with Inacc 1 and Shrapnel 2.
- Naval Inland Bombard is 10 Dice... and so on.

All modifications already made in the first post of this topic.
Sorry, no pics this time, we had no camera available, but I promise a delight of AAM units in combat soon! Oh man, I can't wait for this game actually Very Happy

1965 - Battle of the Bulge, my favorite war movie (yes! , I know it is inaccurate, but who cares?) along with Das Boot.

I have PayPall but I do not wish to sell maps just yet, because I do not have the option to mass produce them or the time and honestly I do not know what price would fit... But, a few $ wont hurt in these times so... I will think about this strategy. My castle needs a new roof, the gardener want a raise and such...

I may consider trading the map for AAM units since I plan to develop some new scenarios in the near future.

Best Regards,

How exactly does the landing phase work? US f.e. has 2 higgins boats and each can load up to 4 soldiers. But the US landing force has more than 8 soldiers (and artillery which needs more space) so how does the rest of them land?

USA – Landing forces (92 pt):
2x Higgins Boat
4x M1 Garand
3x Untested Recruit
1x US Engineer
1x Thompson Gunner
2x Red Devil Cpt
1x BAR Gunner
3x Marine Riflemen
1x Marines Flamethrow
1x 37 mm Gun
1x Mortar M2

# Higgins Boat and Trucks: may carry up to 4 Soldiers or 2 Soldiers and one Soldier Artillery; H-Boat will end its move in the last sea (blue) hex adjacent to the beach, where it can unload (no stacking rules apply).

Well it is simple, I give an example of a typical turn: you load 4 soldiers in the deployment area of the Higgins boat, then row to the beach (last blue hex), unload them (this in the movement phase), return to the deployment area where you load again another "round" of soldiers (attack phase), and so on. Observe that the deployment area of the H-Boat is near to the shore so moving the boat in the Movement & Attack phase using its speed it's enough in order to have a landing. The soldiers use their speed to dismount the H-Boat in the movement phase.

A long wait, but now I am able to post some pics for this scenario. The pics are just from the initial stages of the game, but what a battle it was... Anyway, I wont comment too much, pictures talk better.

My tribute to DDAY!
