I know the tournament is already full, is it possible to be put on a waiting list in case anyone has to drop out for any reason?
I understand completely if this isn't possible...especially past the first round that wouldn't be fair. Let me know and thank you. _________________

: Scharnhorst. I'm afraid you can't take part unless someone drops out before the start of their game. However, there will be more tournaments in the future and you can always play in the online matches subforum. _________________

I may just be complaining here
But the recovery roll is STUPID
It is already hard enough to do anything with Planes, But this is Just Lame IMHO
This version of the Game seems Like Fun, But Seriously, Recovery rolls are stupid, What, did the pilots in the entire Sqd. throw their Radios out the Window?
Why Should a Patrol Bomber Not Have to roll a recvery when everything else does? |

Have you ever tried to land a plane on a WWII carrier at night?
It's damn hard.
Patrol Bombers were generally more suited to night flying, and they land on the airbase, which is easier to find because it's not moving and easier to land on because it's also not pitching and rolling.
Failing a recovery roll doesn't necessarily mean that the entire squadron threw their radios out the window, mostly because they weren't always in radio contact with the carrier. It was more of a "go out on this heading, fight, come back on this heading, and we'll be waiting for you." Very easy to get lost in the night. It could also mean that the carrier was pitching and rolling enough that to try and make a landing would have been too risky in terms of damage to the carrier, so the flights were required to ditch in the water. _________________ I have to make a new sig because my old one is too wide for this new look... |

Okay but they still have to make a recovery if they land at the Air base.
That doesn't pitch and roll. |

Death match rules question. Are the non-island objectives able to be contested normally (by adjacent ships)? _________________

Not a definite one, so I can't reveal it. If you are interested in the WAS-related events, there will be probably 3 more. In total about 10 events. _________________

A quwestion whose answer I might know, but I hope for better?
You have to roll a search check when you place aircraft - I fear this also includes your own fighters that you place with your OWN ships (normally I would assume you don't have to find your own ships)
I will be especially funny if you start your fighter from a carrier and the fighter DOES NOT find the carrier
Another question - must the fencers innate AA attack also make a search check (for logical reasons I would say yes, but as I am saddled with the allies I hope the answer is NO) _________________ [img.]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/db/Animated_gun_turret.gif[/img]

Unfortunatly, the rules state that when you place an aircraft, you must roll a search check. Think of this as not your planes finding the carrier they just lifted off from but them finding the dive bombers who are on an attack run to sink it.

The innate AA is an SA, and so is not affected by the search roll. (It still is at -1 though).
Hope that helps! _________________ -Greyh

Just a note in advance-
I will be travelling June 8-June 19 to Europe and will have little or no access to a computer in that time frame so if the next round starts soon, and I think it's getting close, I just wanted to let peeps know ahead of time.
Also, ND, are you waiting for this to be completely over before starting another War at Sea tourny? I'd hate to miss a sign up while I am on vacation and plan on playing in any War at Sea tournaments. _________________
