Post subject: Prizes for Forumini Competitions Reply with quote
Well, the Forumini Olympics have officially started. Only problem is that we don't have any money for prizes. The google ads are only just barely covering our running costs right now. To help alleviate this problem, I created a Donate button on the right (just under the Riverside Gaming ad). It goes through Paypal, so you will need a credit card or Paypal account (Paypal is better, as there is less of a fee on our side). You are free to donate however much you want. However, the more that we collect, the cooler the prizes that we (the admin team) will be able to buy for the winners. Keep in mind that we also need to cover shipping.

Please consider donating a small amount (no more than $5) to the prize bucket. But, all donations are completely anonymous, so do not feel at all obligated to do so. We won't come after you or anything.

Also, if you have a better idea for a location of the button, please say so. Lastly, I will be creating a forumini-themed button soon, to get rid of the generic paypal one.

Thanks for your support

Can I donate a mini or a couple of my custom made obstacles for prizes?  I'm short on cash right now, especially with no OT available.

Sure, send me a PM with what you want to send, and I'll give you my mailing address.

I'll put something like this on all of the announcements I made.

Thank you to everyone that has donated so far. However, we still need more stuff, as right now there is enough money to buy prizes for 2 contests, and we have 10 planned. Snippersly had a great idea and asked if he could send in some custom minis. I told him yes, of course he could. If you can't donate money to the cause, you are more than welcome, nay, you are begged to send in spare minis, scratchbuilds, terrain, or absolutely anything that would be a good prize. Even gift cards!

PM me for my mailing address to send stuff to.

Thank you for your support of the Olympics.

P.S. I was only half-joking about the gift cards.

Thanks so much to everyone that has already donated! We have about $60 so far, which is nice, but @ $5.00 per person, that's only 12 people. I can guarantee you there are more than 12 competitors in the Olympics.

On the topic of donations, we are receiving lots of WaS stuff. However, we do need some cool ideas for AAM- or dual-related prizes. Suggestions?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Arrow A nice pack of assembled artillery guns from Peter Pig/Old Glory/Battlefront to replace the silly AAM models. They sell also the accessories like tank obstacles, which are much sought for AAM.
Arrow I can personally offer a copy of HHR rules together with a printed set of cards for one selected nation.

I dont participate in the Olympics, but i could offer a nice Winter Panther. The problem is, its 1:144 and not A&A scale.
