Post subject: 200pt Invasion of the Carribbean Game

For those who haven't heard my usual diatribe here goes. Every Wednesday I play War at Sea with a bunch of guys at the FLGS near my friends. It is about 20 minutes on the highway (in good traffic or over an hour in bad).
We've been playing since the game came out and our numbers have swelled and dwindled. Right now we have 6-8 players. Anyway, on 10/1/08 we played a scenario that one of our regulars, John, devised. It is a special convoy escort type mission. Each side had x number of transports going to an island held by the Axis. He devised this to be Guadalcanal but our force organizations altered this to the Caribbean (the Bahamas perhaps).
The Axis held the island, which had a 1 strip airfield and a shore battery. The rules for the shore battery came from the ones used in the official Wizards global Axis & Allies campaign (they devised rules to use with shore batteries for WAS). The 1 strip airfield allowed 1 aircraft to be based there. Each side fielded 200pts.
The game's objective was simple. The Axis got 1pt for holding the island with the airfield. They received additional points, 1 each, for each transport that bases the island and unloads its contingent of reinforcements. The Allies had the same goals but they had to take the island before they could hold it.
Normally I keep track of the games I play but instead I was having so much fun I forgot. Luckily I had another gamer take photos of the game in progress. If I recall correctly the Allies won.
There's 32 pictures that I originally put on Facebook. It would take forever for this thread to load with all of them. So, please go to CWF Game Cast Presents: War at Sea: Battle of the Bahamas Photo Gallery where I have a photo gallery of them setup with better loading times. _________________
