Well, what would have happened if PoW and Repulse had made it out of harm's way, would they have reinforced the Dutch East Indies ? I think the case could be made that it was possible. If so, then certainly BB's should be allowed in an ABDA type build under an ABDA Admiral.

However, the Japanese Air Force  pretty much made that into a what if rather than a what was.  Besides, Collins maritime service in WWII pretty much had him in command more of cruisers and smaller units, both in the Pacific as well as the Med/South Atlantic fighting the Italians.  Hence, leaving his SA dealing mostly with cruiser class vessels makes sense.  Wink

The question that this is now bringing up for me however, is this, is the new Admiral supposed to bring some flavor and personality to the Austrailans, and by proxy, the Commonwealth, or is he yet another ABDA admiral with similar abilities to Doorman?  Confused

With only one official Canadian ship in the game, it's not really possible to play Canadian yet. Hopefully in Set III we'll have enough.

It was a great idea to add Francesco Mimbelli to the Regia Marina's staff. MTB will become even more pleasant to use!

first of all i love these cards i was able to get them made into cards at kinkos. and they turned out very nice. my group likes them very much. out of curiosity i noticed halsey and nimitz are not there. is there a reason. im just curious and not complaining but wondering. again thanks for the time you took to make them and to answer my question. i really appriciate it.

We never managed to agree on Nimitz and Halsey and so we didn't make their cards.

If we are to make them, then we will have to make a second batch of Admirals. It is not easy to find more Axis admirals. But here is my try:

Nimitz
Senior: Upon seeing the Axis admiral, pick another US admiral to use.

Halsey
Seek for Glory: This player scores 2 extra points for every enemy carrier and battleship sunk.

i like those and i really dont think they would need any other sa's. nimitz would basically give you a peek at the opponents card so you could better define your tactics. that would be a BIG ability for a major commander which he was.

halsey i might add 1 extra die when used with nimitz on attack only because yamamoto and donitz are so powerful. i think that would even it up a bit. also if i recall they did work well together in the pacific.

I'm sure we'll look at them again eventually.  I think the goal for now has been to have enough to have another big tournament in the olympics this year.  We've got enough for that, but that doesn't mean we won't make more later.

I kind of like Halsey's, perhaps it could have an even bigger bonus, and then be balanced by some negative to represent his impulsive nature.

Yes, u are correct.
The only time we will look at from now on is when the Soviets or any other new nation is added. If the Soviets come in we will probably add 2 Soviet Admirals, We will have to find 2 Axis Admirals to balance.

Though we may not look at it now, I will still prepare for the future. Halsey is changed to:
Seek for Glory: This player score 3 more points for each enemy battleship and carrier sunk, but must capture at least two objectives to win.

And for the Soviets, one obvious choice is Kuznetsov.

Kuznetsov
Bio: Kuznetsov commanded the Soviet Navy for the entire Patriotic War, and was able to put the Soviet Navy on alert before Barbarossa.
Prepared: This player gain +1 flagship bonus.
CinC Soviet Navy: This player's ships and subs cost 1 less.

The cards are a big hit at my locations and everyone has made a set, at least for their respective navies.  A question was asked if there would be mor eput out when another expansion comes out (for WaS), or if this is it completely.  (Was personally wondering if Admiral Chester Nimitz may get a card)

Yeah, Haalsey would be good to.

If Halsey is given a card he should have a negative SA. A possible example is Overly Aggressive: If an opponent has a carrier you must attack the carrier with the maximum amount of air units allowable to the exclusion of other surface units.

In other words you will be forced to attack an opponent'e carrier units. This reflects Halsey's rash decision to abandon covering the US landing beaches at Leyte.

Salut y'all!
