US and IJN are by far my biggest fleets. As historically they should be. _________________ The SCA: Just an excuse for getting dressed up in Medieval clothing and beat each other up with padded sticks! |

Although large, the USN pacific fleet is not very successful in sorties offensively against the Japanese, likewise the IJN suffers the same. This is due to a heavy lack of aircraft carriers, but large amount of aircraft. Island Bases are flooded with aircraft that woudl otherwise be on CV's engaging in front line battles. As the defending side usually has access to a land base and CV's, the Carrier based aircraft often get's overwhelmed.
The Pacific Fleet has two Flagships. This is because the Admiral loves aircraft carriers, and Saratoga is the best he can get. (His dream is to one day transfer his flag to a Midway Class) Unfortunately for him there are so few CV's available that Saratoga is usually off in a remote location, and not with the main fleet. Missouri on the other hand, has beyond adequate facilitates to be flagship, and is the core of the US battle fleet, so he is based off there more often. (Think of Satartoga as his summer house)
The Atlantic Fleet only has 5 ships that are always present.
Arizona, Cleveland, Gatling, Hazelwood, and Terry. Any other ship in the Atlantic is usually rotated in and our (differnt atlant class for instance) on a bi-weekly bases. To this day, they have only ever 1 aircraft carrier (Saratoga) during a joint US/UK attack on Italy (more on that once I finis typing it out)
The Atlantic fleet is usually stocked with the older ships, and is designated to act as an extension of the British fleet for mass operations, and to protect the US east coast. It is an unglamorous, put proud fleet that has been promised USS Ranger and any battleship that predates the New York Class to be determinant additions if they release in the future. This may not sound like much, but given the fact that until recently it was composed entirely of CLs and DDs, relying on the British for air cover. This is not because command see's Italy/Germany as a minor threat (but that is part of it), more that the IJN usually grow exponentially with the US fleet and the best equipment is usually held onto for fighting them. (Ranger is promised because the Admiral doesn't particularly like her, and the Pre-New Yorks because they don't figure into the current US strategy in any way other than bombardment.
Pacific wants top off with the Essex Class (any CV really), Clevelands, and Liberty Ships.
No wants = Omahas (Personally I love them, the Admiral doesnt)
Atlantic wants whatever it can get, and then keep it in the Atlantic. They are sure that by the time the New York Class comes round, USN BB numbers will be high and they may get a grab at one, and as soon as a few Essex come in, they can snatch teh St Lo
more later, including aircraft....... |

Pride, all I use is the diffuser panels from flourescent light fixtures. Cut 'em, paint 'em, and glue the ships on. Well there is some filing and sanding of the edges that need to be done but...
Not much to it really. I'm currently behind because I ran out of panel and they are about $8 - $15 a piece. Currently $$ is allocated to other resources. Like Food and Utilities and Rent and... Tho I've heard that Food is overrated... _________________ The SCA: Just an excuse for getting dressed up in Medieval clothing and beat each other up with padded sticks! |
